Chapter 2260 Who Is My Daughter?

The sun rose once more, and in just two more sunrises, it would be New Year’s.

As always, Zovince was filled with the festive atmosphere of the approaching celebration.

For the past two days, Ethan had been working at the congress, preparing for the New Year’s morning visit to the Chapel of Oros on Divine Mountain, where he and other congress officials would pray for Chanaea.

Because of this, Emmanuel had some rare free time, and early in the morning, he was in the garden with Mackenzie, spending time with their boy.

“Caden looks so much like you, Mackenzie!” Emmanuel lifted the child high with a smile. “He’s definitely going to be more handsome than his father when he grows up!”

Mackenzie covered her mouth and laughed. “You really know how to flatter me. Your skills in bootlicking are improving along with your martial arts!”

“Haha, I’m just speaking the truth!” Emmanuel chuckled. “Your features are the most delicate–I’m not just complimenting you for no reason!”

Mackenzie rolled her eyes at him, realizing once again that this man was her biggest admirer.

Then, she looked at their son for a long moment before saying, “I just hope he doesn’t grow up looking too delicate. A man should be more rugged.”

“Hmm, you have a point,” Emmanuel immediately agreed, contradicting his previous statement.

“Haha, you two seem quite relaxed today.”

A voice suddenly rang out from above, startling Emmanuel–whoever had approached was so skilled that he hadn’t noticed until they were close.

That could only mean that their martial arts must be formidable.

The next moment, a hunched old man leaped down in front of them.

“Santiago! It’s you!” Emmanuel quickly walked over. “You disappeared for a whole day and night–I thought someone had kidnapped you! What brings you to us today?”

Mackenzie also approached, sensing that Santiago wasn’t here for any official business. And sure enough, Santiago didn’t waste time and got straight to the point. “Yuna Tanner took me away for a day. She’s my daughter now!”

“I see.” Emmanuel wasn’t particularly surprised; he had already suspected as much.

Mackenzie, however, was more meticulous and immediately asked, “But how are you so sure that she’s your daughter?”

Emmanuel immediately nodded in agreement.

“She shares quite a few of Jane’s features,” Santiago explained, “and she has half of the jade pendant Jane left

behind.”

“Jade pendant?!” A thought had hit Emmanuel, and when he saw the half pendant Santiago pulled out, he

“What?!” Santiago was stunned.

Mackenzie was equally surprised. This revelation cast doubt on Yuna’s true identity.

“I’m certain.” Emmanuel looked at Santiago and said, “I’ve seen Xylie’s jade pendant multiple times. I even took it off her once when I treated her illness.”

“Hurry! Take me to see Xylie!” Santiago turned urgent.

After spending a day with Yuna, he had been happy that she inherited her mother’s beauty, but her personality didn’t quite resemble either of her parents. On the other hand, Xylie’s demeanor reminded him much more of Jane.

“Alright!”

Emmanuel immediately made a call, and before long, Sage arrived with Xylie.

The two, though still recovering, were already doing much better. So, they decided to stroll within the estate. Upon receiving Emmanuel’s summon, they promptly made their way over.

When Santiago saw Xylie again, he felt an even stronger resemblance to Jane–not just in facial features but in the delicate, endearing aura she carried. That kind of presence was nearly impossible to inherit.

“Xylie, Emmanuel said you also have half of this jade pendant. Can you show it to me?”

Santiago’s tone toward Xylie was noticeably different from how he spoke to Yuna. It was only natural–deep down, he wished for this gentle and well–mannered young woman to be his real daughter.

“Huh?” Xylie was momentarily stunned, her beautiful eyes filled with surprise. Still, after a brief hesitation, she nodded and pulled out the half pendant she had always worn around her neck.

The pendant was unique–one of a kind, impossible to replicate. When Santiago took both halves and placed them together, they fit perfectly.

“These two halves are one!” Mackenzie immediately concluded.

“Xylie, my girl, where did you get this pendant?” Overcome with emotion, Santiago instinctively held her hand, his mind spinning.

Xylie didn’t resist the elderly man’s touch. Instead, she quickly explained, “I’ve worn this pendant since I was a child. I have no idea where it originally came from. Later, Teddy told me that his older brother left it with me as a marker of my identity… They confirmed who I was through this pendant.”

Emmanuel and Mackenzie exchanged glances, clearly not buying Teddy’s story.

Santiago, however, was even more agitated. “His older brother?! This belonged to his sister! This was Jane’s jade pendant–she accidentally acquired it years ago!”

At that, Emmanuel and Mackenzie’s expressions grew even more complicated.

“You’re right!” Santiago nodded decisively.

Mackenzie stepped forward and said, “Call Yuna over. I’ll arrange everything. In two hours, we’ll know who your real daughter is.”

“Alright!” Santiago didn’t hesitate–he leaped into the air and vanished.

“Incredible!” Sage exclaimed. “As expected of the commander’s master–he’s like a demigod!”

Meanwhile, Xylie’s expression was complex, a mixture of awe, doubt, hesitation, and even pain. She had lived for over twenty years without knowing who her real parents were, constantly manipulated by others.

“You’ll have the answer soon, Xylie. Don’t worry,” Emmanuel reassured her.

“Yeah…” Xylie nodded, but her heart was pounding uncontrollably.

Mackenzie wasted no time. She immediately contacted Lexi to prepare the DNA test. All they needed were samples from the three individuals, and the truth would be revealed.

The matter quickly attracted attention, and before long, Nathan, Victoria, Claudette, Laura, and even Hattie and Magnus all gathered outside the testing room.

After all, the Silver Dragon Spear Saint and the first Maestro Moretti were legendary figures in Chanaea. Everyone was eager to find out who their daughter truly was.
