Love at the Wrong Table Emmanuel Lowe Chapter 390
Love at the Wrong Table
Chapter 390
âMom, I know I was wrong! I really know I was wrong. Can you talk to Ryder
and let me go back home? I promise to serve him well and take care of our
family!â Abellyn pleaded desperately.
As Claudette had hired a lawyer, things had been swiftly resolved in their
divorce dispute. On the other hand, Abellyn had basically received nothing
and was even kicked out of the house. Moreover, Zane had disappeared,
leaving her with no solution. Now, even surviving became a problem, and she
had no choice but to eat her words and go back.
Being softâhearted, Alessandra saw Abellynâs tears and felt that she didnât
want to see their family fall apart. She sighed and said, âIâll talk to Ryder. If heâs
willing to listen to me, Iâll speak up for you.â
âReally? Thank you, Mom! Thank you!â Abellyn immediately became ecstatic.
Suddenly, a sarcastic voice sounded from behind.
âMom, donât sympathize with a woman like her. If you do, youâll harm Ryder!â A
cold and stern voice spoke upâit was Mackenzie.
âMackenzie, what are you doing here? Come in quickly!â Alessandra was very
enthusiastic and fond of Mackenzie. Hér attitude was completely different
from her attitude toward Abellyn just now.
However, Abellyn was not a generous nor graceful person and felt displeased
seeing the stark contrast in treatment. She pouted and made faces behind
Alessandraâs back, even silently cursing Mackenzie in her mind.
Mackenzie sensed the commotion behind her and suddenly turned her head.
Her powerful and icy aura frightened Abellyn into closing her mouth. Only
after Mackenzie and Alessandra entered the house did Abellyn angrily leave
the Lowe Residence with a resentful look in her eyes.
âDarn it, Mackenzie. Youâre always acting all high and mighty! One day, I will
definitely reduce you to ashes!â
Yes, every time she saw Mackenzieâs gaze, she felt that the other woman
completely despised her from head to toe. For some reason, she always felt
that Mackenzie treated her as an old woman, which severely damaged her
selfâesteem.
However, she also knew that she and Mackenzie were worlds apart in terms
of social status, so she could only grit her teeth and say a few venomous
words without being able to do anything.
âMackenzie, why did you come so early? Why didnât you tell me in advance?â
Alessandra asked, forgetting about Abellyn. In her heart, there was nothing
more important than her daughterâinâlaw, especially at this critical moment.
âMom, Emmanuel has been taken to the police station!â Mackenzie stated
directly.
âWâWhat did you say?â
Alessandra trembled all over as if her strength had been instantly drained.
After a while, she managed to steady herself and held Mackenzieâs hand,
asking, âWhat did he do exactly?â
âHe killed someone in selfâdefense!â
âUh-â

Alessandra, whose health was not the best, was almost on the verge of
fainting from the shock.
My honest and upright son! How could he possibly kill someone? No! It canât
be true!
Mackenzie quickly supported her and reassured her, âMom, donât worry. Iâll find
a way to bail him out. Heâll be fine.â
âOkay! I believe in you!â
Alessandra gently patted Mackenzieâs back. Luckily, her daughterâinâlaw was
here; otherwise, if someone else had told her this news, she might not have
been able to handle it.
In the next moment, Mackenzieâs phone rang.
âWhat? Emmanuel was taken away this morning?â Hearing Lexiâs report on the
other end of the call, Mackenzie was quite surprised. âWho was it?â
âMs. Quillen, I couldnât find out, but I know this is related to Eve!â
âEve?â
