Brittany noticed Eddy and raised her eyebrows in surprise. She said, “You’re here too, Mr. Eddy.”

“Yes,” Eddy answered half–heartedly.

He looked back at Brittany and asked, “What are you doing here?” Although he already knew the answer, he didn’t want to admit the truth.

Brittany’s team escorted the baffled Eddy and Susan out of the office.

Brittany remained silent during the discussions outside. She gently closed the door to isolate the noise.

She asked, “Shall we start, Ms. Evans?”

Caroline nodded slightly and asked Cheryl to pour Brittany a glass of water.

Brittany became a different person when she was at work. She said methodically. “I’ve gotten a general understanding of your issue. I heard that you already have evidence to accuse your parents. Is that true?”

“Yes,” Caroline said, matching Brittany’s attitude. She opened the email she’d received from that mystery person.

“I was kidnapped by someone a month ago, but I managed to escape. Later on, I found out that the people who kidnapped me were hired by my mother.”

There wasn’t a single change in Brittany’s expression.

“Perfect. If we post this piece of evidence online and hire some bloggers to get it circulating, we can get more people to know about the truth. Things will likely settle down in less than three days.”

Caroline smiled slightly. “This isn’t what I want.”

Brittany was surprised by her words. She said, “You’re a loyal daughter, Ms. Evans. You don’t want your parents to be affected by this…”

“No.” Caroline got up. She handed a laptop to Brittany. “After the accusations blew up, this happened to my house.”

Brittany looked at the pictures on the screen. “This is normal. Some extreme or egoistical people will retaliate against people involved in scandals.”

A gleam of interest appeared in Brittany’s eyes.

Brittany felt a chill up her spine from Caroline’s last words. She no longer looked at Caroline politely like before. Instead, she looked at her with admiration.
