Chapter 279

Four security guards came in, grabbed Jane and Daphne, and threw them out. The bodyguards Daphne had brought didn’t dare to stop them and just slinked out of the store with her and Jane.

After dealing with them, the person in charge ran to Sean again. He said, “Mr. Yates, Mr. Eddy asked me to hand this to you.”

Sean glanced at the item. It was a card.

“There are 200 thousand dollars on this card. You can spend it at any store under Morrison Corp. Mr.

Eddy said it’s a token of apology,” the person in charge explained.

Gwen clicked her tongue at his words and nudged Caroline with her arm.

Caroline had never seen Eddy be so generous in their eight years together. Even Eddy had to lower himself in front of someone more powerful than him.

200 thousand dollars was just a drop in the bucket for Sean, but when he thought of Kirk, he smiled and kept the card.

“You’re lucky that Mr. Eddy knows how to deal with people. We’ll just leave this matter at that, but I won’t be so kind the next time this happens.”

The person in charge nodded hastily. “Yes, all right. I’ll make sure to relay your message to Mr. Eddy.”

Sean said, “You can leave.”

“Yes, sir.” The person in charge immediately left, as if receiving grace from a king.

After this, the clerks in the store understood that Sean was someone important, to the point where even Eddy couldn’t afford to upset him.

They all approached him enthusiastically.

“Mr. and Mrs. Yates, let me show you around.”

“We have a new wedding dress in our store. It’s really beautiful “Mrs. Yates, we also have different styles right here. If you like them.”

Hearing the clerks‘ chatter, Caroline massaged her temples. She said wearily, “It’s getting late. We have to go.”

Gwen glanced at her phone. “You’re right. It’s time to go back to work.”

Sean nodded and led Caroline and Gwen out of the store. In the car, he handed the card to Caroline.

He said, “You can keep this, Caroline.” It was the card Eddy had given him.

Caroline waved her hand and refused. “I don’t deserve this. Besides, I have to thank you for helping me.”

Hearing her words, Gwen turned in the passenger seat and said, “Just keep it, Carol. It’s Eddy’s money. Treat this as compensation for wasting your youth on him.”

Caroline teased, “Since when did you start making decisions for Sean?”

Gwen blushed slightly and straightened up. “I’m telling the truth. You cared for Eddy for eight years, so you should get something from it.”

Sean looked over at Gwen happily, then turned to Caroline through the rearview mirror. “Gwen’s right.

You deserve this money. Besides, there’s no point in me keeping it. I don’t buy wedding dresses anyway.”

After feeling the blush on her face slowly disappear, Gwen turned to look at Caroline again. “Carol, you’re taking a wedding photo. You don’t have to leave any regrets, do you?”

Caroline was moved. They were right.

Sean wouldn’t use the card anyway. Even if he got married, he probably wouldn’t buy a wedding outfit off the shelf. He would have one custom–made. It would be a waste not to use 200 thousand dollars.
