Chapter 541
Bogus Billionaire
Kirk gripped his phone tighter and asked, âWhere are you now?â
âIâm in the northern suburbs following them right now. But Iâve been drugged, and I donât think my body can take it any longer. You have to get here quickly,â Jack answered.
He was afraid that being just a moment too slow would cause even more mishaps.
He added, âAlso, I saw them dump all of the madamâs belongings. I think theyâre trying to avoid being tracked. Theyâre very professional. I can tell at a glance that theyâve been trained.â
Kirk ended the call and turned to head to the basement.
âHave someone track Jackâs location immediately,â he ordered.
Meanwhile, Charles jogged to catch up with Kirk. As he did, he answered, âYes, sir.â
As they spoke, they arrived at the parking lot. Kirk opened the car door and slipped into the driverâs seat. Not daring to delay, Charles quickly got into the car too.
Charles had assumed that Kirk would speed, but Kirk drove quite steadily. Charles found this unusual and said, âSir.â
Kirkâs expression was dark. âSpeak.â
Charles opened his mouth, but he wasnât quite sure how to phrase his question.
After a moment, he said, âArenât you worried about the madam when sheâs been abducted?â
Kirk shot Charles a look, making him realize that he had asked a stupid question.
âOr did you already know that the madam would be abducted?â
âIâm not clairvoyant,â Kirk replied coldly.
Charles grimaced.
Then why in the world was Kirk able to drive so smoothly this time?
Charles wanted desperately to know. But he couldnât ask about it, so he could only keep his mouth shut.
In reality, Kirk was driving quite quickly. It only seemed normal because he used to speed like The car carrying Caroline arrived at a mountain. It was an abandoned place that no one lived in.
The men got out of the car and carried Caroline up the mountain.
Daphne and Jane were waiting at the mountaintop. When they saw Caroline, their expressions became joyful.
âMrs. Collins, Mrs. Morrison,â Liam was very polite to the two women.
âWeâve captured Caroline for you.â
Jane looked at Caroline, who had been thrown onto a pile of grass. She praised Liam, saying, âGood job.â
Daphne stepped forward and asked casually, âWere you discovered?â
Liam replied, âDonât worry, Mrs. Morrison. No one saw us. However, her driver got away.â
Liam treated Daphne with even more respect than he did Jane. In his eyes, Daphne had more clout as the wife of Eddyâs second uncle than Jane, who was Howardâs wife.
After all, she was part of the Morrison family, and her husband was the wealthiest person overseas.
Before Daphne, the Collins family was nothing.
However, Daphneâs expression changed when she heard what Liam said.
âHow can you say that no one saw you if the driver got away?â
Liam could only chuckle. âHeâs just a driver. So he got away. Itâs not like he can come back and save Caroline!â
Jane wasnât worried about the/driver, either. âMr. Mackey is right. Even if heâs a loyal dog, he canât ask for help anyway. Do you think he could contact the Morrison family for help?â
After she said this, both she and Liam laughed.
Yet Daphneâs face got paler and paler. She couldnât tell them the truthâthat Caroline was actually Kirkâs wife.
