Chapter 717
Bogus Billionaire
âWhy canât 17â Rosalind questioned.
Rosalind looked at Aurora as if the latter were a fool. âOh, thank goodness I found out about your problematic comprehension skills. If I hadnât found out before the filming commenced, it would have been too late.
âWell, Marietta has never been imprecise, but her daughter is her only weakness. Even so, she shouldnât have given anyone the roles they wanted just to get her daughter back.â
Aurora tried to say something to salvage the situation, but Rosalind no longer had the patience to keep arguing with her. âYou should hurry up and leave. If you donât, Iâll have to call security.â
Aurora was, after all, a public figure and didnât want to cause too much trouble. When Rosalind said she would call security, Aurora quickly left.
After the third floor became quiet again, Caroline nodded slightly to Rosalind. âThank you, Ms.
Winslow.â
Rosalind frowned. âSurely you donât think I refused to give Aurora the role because of you?â
âOf course not.â Caroline smiled. âI can see that you want to make this movie right.â
Rosalind nodded at her words.
âButâ¦â Caroline straight into Rosalindâs eyes. âMs. Winslow, youâre wrong about one thing.â
When Gwen heard Carolineâs words, she tugged on her sleeve. Caroline was crazy. She couldnât believe Caroline would find fault with Rosalind.
Rosalind raised an eyebrow. âOh? What was I wrong with?â
Caroline explained, âOf course, Aunt Mary wants to give the role to the more suitable actress. After all, itâs a character she worked so hard to create. To her, every one of her works is like her baby, and she has invested her emotions in every one of her characters.â
Then, she continued, âSo, when she gave out the role, she must have been very sad. She had to make some choices, and they must have been difficult to make. So, I donât think she simply handed over the role to Aurora.â
Rosalind looked at Caroline silently, then sighed. âI finally understand why Marietta praises you Seeing that Rosalind had no intention of blaming Caroline, Gwen excitedly tugged on her friendâs sleeve.
After they entered the office, Caroline handed Rosalind her latest written work. Rosalind put her glasses on and began reading it seriously.
Although Caroline had gotten Mariettaâs approval, she would be lying if she said she wasnât nervous. After all, everyone had their own opinion about literature. Not everyone would like a particular work.
The room gradually became quiet. At this moment, the sound of high heels clacking on the ground could be heard again.
However, unlike Auroraâs blatant way of walking, this individual wasnât making too much noise.
So, the newcomer waited until they came to the door. Gwen was the first to notice who it was.
âAunt Ma-â As soon as Gwen opened her mouth, Marietta shushed and stopped her.
However, Caroline still heard her. She turned to look at Marietta with surprise.
Marietta walked up to the two of them and said, âAre you looking at Carrieâs writing?â
Caroline nodded, then glanced at Rosalind, who was focused on reading her work. She mouthed to Marietta, âShall we talk outside, Aunt Mary?â
