Everyone at the scene immediately shuddered. Their gazes rushed over to this side. Was Qiao Nian’s 684 a fake score?

Qin Yongmei was also surprised at this. Unsettled, she looked over to Qiao Nian, “Niannian, didn’t you get 684?”

Confronted by Cui Yan and everyone else’s gazes, she muttered with much difficulty, “I... I got 684 in total.”

Qin Yongmei sighed in relief upon hearing this.

Before she could fully exhale, however, Cui Yan smiled, “I checked your score. You participated in our early-enrollment event, which granted you 20 extra credits. Your raw score on the entrance exam was 664. With the extra credits, you got 684. Am I right?”

Cui Yan’s words resulted in a wave of boos. Qin Yongmei’s gaze went black and she almost passed out.

Luo Chen slammed the table as he laughed, “Hahahahaha! Even I got 667 on the exam itself. She didn’t even beat me?!”

Someone chimed in, “A total of 684 points doesn’t mean she scored 684 on the exam. Why would she pass around the news that she got 684?”

“Exactly. Qiao Qing won the Go Competition and received 10 extra credits. So she should be going around telling everyone she got 760?”

Everyone began to look at Qiao Nian discriminatively.

Though the score of 664 wasn’t low. Because she lied about it, she was now being seen as a joke.

Those who chose to be on Qiao Nian’s side because of her entrance exam mark regretted their decision so much they wanted to chop off their own hand.

Qiao Zhizhuo was startled, “What Go Competition? Qingqing won?”

“Elder Qiao didn’t know?” Luo Chen said, “The top three competitors from the Go competition get 10 extra credits on their application to UCC. Not only did Qingqing win the title, but she also saved the City of Brisk from humiliation.”

“Just now, Xu Yingying had the audacity to say that other than looks, Qingqing is worse than Qiao Nian. Looks, marks, even Go, Qingqing is far better than Qiao Nian!”

Qiao Zhizhuo looked over to Qiao Qing excitedly, “Qingqing knows how to play Go?”

Qiao Nian’s heart skipped a beat and she tightened her fist, “Aren’t we talking about grades right now? Why are you dragging the topic to something else?!”

She then looked up to Cui yan, “Dean, as you said, I qualified for and participated in early enrollment. Shouldn’t the credits I received be a part of my total marks? I earned those credits fair and square!”

Xu Yingying added, “Exactly. Are those credits not credits? If the school gives out these extra credits, then they should count. Plus, only those who placed high during the national mock exam get to apply early and get those credits. That national mock exam was harder than the actual entrance exam!”

Cui Yan shook his head, “First of all, the mock exam this year is the easiest exam that’s ever been rolled out. Its difficulty level cannot even be compared to last year’s. I looked over the list of people who received extra credits from it and it was a handful of randoms. It is not at all representative of someone’s capability. Second of all...”

He paused then looked over to Qiao Nian, “Don’t you know that the 20 points can only be added when you apply to certain programs? If those who applied to those certain programs scored higher than you, then, of course, we are going to admit them first.”

“So, I must give you a piece of advice. Your raw score is 2 points lower than the cut-off score UCC has set for admittance. You did decent on the exam – enough to get into a great university. When you start filling out your university applications, don’t put UCC as your top choice. If you fail to get in, you’d need to repeat a year.”

After he spoke, Qiao Nian’s face turned white and her fragile body began to shake like leaves in the wind.

Others were now staring at her with mocking and pitiful gazes.

Luo Chen on the other hand, widened his eyes, “That means my raw score is high enough to be admitted to UCC? Qingqing sure is a beast. She correctly predicted that!”
