“Whatever.” Gu Xinze continued, “I will ask the CEO for permission later.”

Qiao Qing watched Yi Qinghan and Lin Xiyan kiss then inspected the rest of the video. By the time she was done, three hours had passed.

She left the room and before she got anywhere, she ran into Gu Xinze.

Gu Xinze glanced back and forth. Once he was sure that there were only Qiao Qing and Yi Qinghan, he gently coughed and went up to her. In a whisper, he asked, “CEO, can we talk in private?”

Qiao Qing narrowed her eyes.

Gu Xinze instantly freaked out, “CEO, have you forgotten about me again? I’m Gu Xinze, your lil’ Ze!”

Qiao Qing, “...”

Yi Xinghan rolled his eyes, “Don’t say such gross things.” He then put his arm around Qiao Qing’s shoulder and winked at the camera, “Let’s talk elsewhere.”

Inside the VP’s office.

Gu Xinze asked the assistant to go away. Then, personally poured Qiao Qing a cup of tea and diligently brought it to her.

“I heard about what happened downstairs. CEO, if director Dai has offended you so much, why not fire her?”

Yi Qinghan said, “She offended Qingqing?”

Gu Xinze rolled his eyes, “Go watch the surveillance video yourself.”

Qiao Qing didn’t speak. Instead, she took over the tea and sipped it.

Then, she looked over at the table and asked, “How’s her performance?”

“She’s doing well.” Gu Xinze answered, “She’s hardworking and earnest. But how she targetted you today cancels out all her goodwill. CEO, is there a rivalry between you two?”

Qiao Qing ignored him and asked instead, “How about Fu Xiuyu? When will his probation be over?”

Gu Xinze said, “In terms of Fu Xiuyu, I have to exclaim, as a CEO with only six years of experience, his level of capabilities are just as good as mine. Other than the fact that he’s dating our newly signed young star, there are no issues with him. I plan on promoting him after the new year.”

Qiao Qing nodded, “Great.”

Gu Xinze continued, “Then, what about Dai Yixin?”

“Keep her.” Qiao Qing said, “After Fu Xiuyu makes up for the lack of personnel in the executive level, you can do whatever you want with her if she makes any mistakes. You don’t need to ask for my permission.”

Gu Xinze was ecstatic, “Alright!”

Then, he blinked his giant eyes, “CEO, you’re in the Capital City now. You’re not going to miss this year’s end-of-year party, right?”

Qiao Qing didn’t speak.

Gu Xinze didn’t let it go, “CEO, can you please attend just once? You’re just far too low-key! That’s why ignorant people keep on acting c*cky in front of you! If they know who you really were, none of them would dare to trouble you!”

Just then, Yi Xinghan finished watching the video, “Also that Lan Xu deserves to be fired. What a [email protected]”

Gu Xinze slapped his forehead, “I forgot about her! I’ll handle that right away.”

He then looked over to Qiao Qing in the same manner as to how prostitutes flirt with their guests, “CEO, come party!”

Qiao Qing, “...”

“Can you stop being disgusting!?” Yi Qinghan glared at Gu Xinze then said to Qiao Qing, “But honestly, this year is special. It’s not just an end-of-year party. It’s also a three-year anniversary for the company.”

“The company was able to achieve what it has because of your leadership. Of course, we cannot ignore the hard work all the employees put in.”

“Everyone knows the company has one great leader who never shows her face. That’s not normal and it is suspicious. Logically speaking, you should be there on that special day.”
