Byron knew that his mother would have told his father something, but he did not anticipate this.

He stopped what he was doing and patiently explained, “It’s true that Estie and my mother aren’t close anymore these days, but I can assure you that Rosalie has nothing to do with it.”

Benedict looked at the woman in his embrace. “Do you mean it’s your mother’s fault?”

Byron thought of a better way to put this matter. After a moment of silence, he explained, ‘To be precise, there’s a misunderstanding between my mother and Estie. Estie has been reluctant to get along with my mother recently, but it has nothing to do with Rosalie.”
