“Miss Jacobs, I’m sorry about Nox getting injured. We should’ve paid closer attention to the kids.”

The principal quickly apologized to Rosalie, “Originally, we wanted to let the children build up their relationship with their peers by organizing a sports day. We didn’t expect this to happen. However, we promise we’ll never let the kids do dangerous sports anymore.”

Rosalie looked at her two other kids to get confirmation of what the principal said.

After what happened with Wendy drugging the kids, she had always been a little more concerned about the little ones.

Estelle’s eyes were red, and she was too anxious to speak.

Lucian was considered calm, and he nodded. “We were hopping on one leg. Nox was behind us, and we’re not sure why he fell.”

Rosalie was only relieved after Lucian confirmed what the principal told her. Then, she said to the principal, “Don’t blame yourself. It’s normal for kids to get hurt during sports. It’s fine as long as the injury isn’t serious.”

Nox came out with the doctor holding his hand.

At the sight of his mommy, the little boy’s tears rolled down uncontrollably again. He threw himself into his mommy’s embrace in grief.

“Boo-hoo… Mommy, it hurts!”

Rosalie observed the little one’s wounded hand.

There was only a blood-stained scratch from the wrist to the palm. It was swollen.

Nox held his wrist stiffly. She was unsure if it was because of the pain.

“Don’t be afraid. Mommy’s here. The pain will be gone soon, sweetheart.”

Then, she carried the little boy and approached the doctor. “Doctor, how is Nox’s injury? Can I take a look at the X-ray film?”

The doctor, of course, would not refuse. He handed her the X-ray film and explained, “The injury is on the tissue. However, children’s pain tolerance level is not as good as adults, and it’ll hurt for quite some time.”

Rosalie observed the X-ray and frowned.

The injury was so severe that she could imagine how suddenly Nox fell.

Since she was a doctor herself, she had taught them what to do to prevent serious injuries.

Nox must have not remembered because the fall was too sudden.

She suspected it was not that simple.

“I recommend that the kid stays in the ward for a few days and then be discharged if he recovers well.”

The doctor’s words lingered in Nox’s ears.

“I don’t want to stay in the ward,” Nox whimpered as he refused.

Rosalie appeased the little boy and rejected the doctor’s suggestion. “It’s okay. I’m a doctor myself, and I can take care of him. Thank you for everything, doctor.”
