Chapter 1764 Be More Careful
My Ex-Wife and Kids Came In Like A Wrecking Ball
Rosalie had just recovered. After what happened, Byron was worried about letting her stay outside alone.
âYou can go back first. I want to hang out with Mary for a while.â
Rosalie could see Mary had something she wanted to tell her. Thus, she decided to go along with Mary's plans.
Byron frowned, and he looked worried.
Mary understood his worries and said, âIf you're worried, you can send someone to protect us. You donât have to worry about me making Rosalie do something that'll betray you.â
Byron agreed readily, saying, âIâll send someone to protect you girls. Call me when you're done and Iâll pick you up.â
It seemed he had planned to do so from the beginning.
Mary had no objection to this. She even quipped, âLooks like having a husband is different from being single like me.â
Rosalie smiled as she spoke to the kids, âMommy will go out with Godmother for a while. You guys return home with your daddy.â
The kids nodded obediently.
Byron called his men and left after making sure they had arrived.
âWhatâs the matter? Do you have something to say?â
Mary dragged Rosalie to a bar nearby, and Rosalie asked when they were seated.
Mary sipped her wine guiltily and looked around them.
It spiked Rosalieâs curiosity. âIs there anything that you're hesitating to tell me?"
Mary hesitated for a while before speaking, âDo you still remember Miss Lincoln?â
Rosalie was startled for a moment before she remembered who Miss Lincoln was.
Many things had happened these days, and Chloe had only appeared before her one time. She did not pay much attention to Chloe because her mind was occupied with something else.
âYes. Byron has explained this to me. They're childhood friends. What's wrong?â
Mary sighed and advised her, âIn my opinion, although President Lawrence was a bit of a scumbag six years ago, he's a very good man now. Miss Lincoln grew up with him, and the timing of her return is a little strange. Youâd better be careful. She might be the next Wendy."
Then, she explained, âI donât mean anything else. I've seen how President Lawrence took care of you the past few days, and I believe he'll never change his mind. However, we're not certain what Miss Lincoln's intentions are. Itâs better to be careful.â
Mary was now cautious because of what happened with Wendy.
On the one hand, she was happy that her best friend had found true love. On the other hand, she feared her best friend would be hurt again because Byron was too popular.
Since Rosalie returned, she had almost lost Rosalie twice.
Mary did not want to experience it again.
Rosalie furrowed her brows upon hearing her best friendâs words that warned her about Chloe.
After a while, she shook her head slightly. âI donât think Miss Lincoln is someone like that.â
She remembered Chloe being sincere, and from Byron's comments about her, she seemed nice enough.
Rosalie wanted to believe in her instinct.
Mary said, âI'm just reminding you to be careful. When you were unconscious, she told me she had no feelings for President Lawrence, but itâs better to keep your guard up."
