Chapter 2068

The wedding was an exhausting affair for Andrius and Mary.

The newlyweds complained endlessly. They never expected to be so tired.

Fortunately, at three o’clock in the afternoon, Andrius pulled Mary in for a passionate kiss after exchanging rings. The wedding ceremony ended successfully.

“Wow, I never thought Andrius could be so sensual! I guess I was too reserved at the beginning!” Byron looked at his wife with an ambiguous smile.

In Rosalie’s eyes, she felt that the moment the couple hugged and kissed was so beautiful.

She turned around and was pulled into her husband’s embrace, who could not help kissing her passionately too.

Fortunately, they were watching the newlywed kiss from a spot backstage. There were not many people around.

Otherwise, it would be embarrassing to still behave like lovesick teens considering they were a long-

time married couple.

When the banquet started, Byron and Rosalie originally planned to stay for the whole event. However, Detective Carter called and said that there was an update on the situation.

Rosalie’s gaze was anxious, but she held back and waited for the couple to toast.

The newlyweds and their parents came by their table. Both Byron and Rosalie wished them well.

After the toast, Byron pulled Andrius aside and whispered to him. Andrius understood.

Rosalie explained to Camelia, “Aunt Wilson, my parents will bring the kids over later. Please watch over them for me!”

Zavier and Clara nodded as well and assured Rosalie that there would be no problem.

“Rosie, the reception isn’t over yet. If you have something to do, go ahead. I’ll take care of the kids. I’m their godmother, after all. Don’t worry!”

With Mary’s assurance, Rosalie felt more at ease.

Immediately, the two drove to the police station.

Detective Carter was already waiting at the entrance. When he saw the two of them, he hurriedly approached their vehicle.

“Something puzzling happened after Violet was released. She called her daughter Sophie. Then, Sophie seemed to have hired a few people and came rushing into the country. In addition, she went out secretly in the middle of the night last night, passing by the street outside the Jacobs’ old family home!”

Detective Carter’s informant could only obtain this update.

Rosalie’s heart suddenly sped up, pounding fast. “Violet’s goal is the Jacobs’ old family home?”

“Is she in a hurry to destroy the evidence?” She froze for a moment.

“This means the last time she went to quarrel with Gordon, it wasn’t just a confrontation between the two. It’s likely that her criminal evidence may still be left in the old house.”

Byron’s analysis received Detective Carter’s nod of approval.

“Then, who did Sophie hire?” Rosalie was curious.

Detective Carter glanced at Byron, who had a look of comprehension. Byron narrowed his eyes slightly.

“If I’m not wrong, it’s likely that they’re private detectives. They were hired to destroy the evidence!”

“Mr. Lawrence, you’re sharp, indeed. My thinking is the same! ” Detective Carter nodded, but he hesitated. “The thing is, Violet has just been investigated, and she’s so anxious to reveal her cards, which is completely inconsistent with her calmness during the previous interrogation. I’m wondering if this is an intentional act to draw our attention to the old house.”

“It doesn’t matter whether it’s true or not. I have enough people for surveillance. Around Violet, the only person who can assist her is her son, Ethan.” Byron immediately called Luther.

He instructed Luther to deploy 20 bodyguards, all at Detective Carter’s disposal.

Although Detective Carter was highly respected with enough authority in the police station, he had retired, after all. There was no way for him to mobilize the police at will.

“The last time I tried searching for my mother’s heirloom, I couldn’t find it! Detective Carter, Byron and I will go back to the old house first. Well search for it carefully!” Rosalie was anxious.

Detective Carter nodded in agreement and watched the two leave quickly.

Not long after, Luther brought a group of people to Detective Carter. Detective Carter smiled with satisfaction and immediately acted.
