Ever since the day Byron kicked Wendy out of his home, she had been miserable.

In the past, Aunty Melody would have stepped up and defended her, but she did not help her that day, which only meant that even Mrs. Lawrence had no power to do so.

Wendy bit her lower lip bitterly. “Aunt, I know all about Byron’s temperament. I understand what he’s like. Since he already said that, there’s really no room for change. It’s okay. If you ever feel lonely, you can still look for me. In my heart, you’re the same as my mother.”

Melody was moved more than ever. After thinking for a while, she assured her. “Wendy, don’t worry just yet. As long as the matter about him canceling the engagement isn’t spread to the public, there’s still room for things to turn around. Once Byron’s anger has subsided, I’ll talk to him again.”

Wendy nodded as she had achieved her goal, but her expression still looked pitiful and bitter.
