Chapter 44
My Ex-Wife and Kids Came In Like A Wrecking Ball
Chapter 44 Iâll Marry Him When I Grow Up The two of them chatted briefly, but as it was late, Mary then said her goodbyes and left.
The two little ones followed Rosalie around the room like they were her tails. After cleaning up a bit, Rosalie then had the time to turn around and care for them. âDid you guys have fun at kindergarten today? Did you guys get into trouble with the other children?â
The two little ones carefully recalled their time and nodded hard. âIt was quite pleasant. When school was over today, the children stuffed us with a lot of snacks!â Hearing this, Rosalie could not help laughing. âAre you two so popular?â Nox nodded solemnly. He looked at Lucian beside him and said, âThere was a girl today who said that she wants to marry Lucian when she grows up!â
âReally?â Rosalie looked at her son with amusement.
Lucian was stunned for a moment before he glanced at his brother, ears slightly red. âThere was one, but I didnât promise her.â
Nox pinched his ears and made a face at him. Seeing the little ones messing around, Rosalieâs face was filled with smiles. Although it was already late, the two still spent some time pestering her and talking about the interesting things that happened at kindergarten. Most of the time, it was Nox who said a bunch of stuff while Lucian summarized it. Rosalie also listened to them carefully and laughed loudly from time to time because of how cute they were.
It was already close to 10 oâclock when they realized.
âYou have to be quick. You two still need to go to kindergarten tomorrow!â
Rosalie retracted her smile and urged the two to go and rest. They listened to her and ended their topic of conversation before heading upstairs to rest.
In the morning of the next day, Rosalie sent them to the kindergarten before heading to the research institute.
Rosalie and Yves exited the conference room together after the morning meeting. âHow did it go yesterday? Were you able to do anything about Old Master Quirkeâs illness?â
Yves expressed his concern.
Rosalie nodded slightly. âThe old masterâs condition is very serious and treatment is a little tricky. Itâs not impossible to cure it, but the treatment period will be longer. Iâll likely head there often these days, so Iâll leave things here to you.â
Hearing this, Yvesâ eyes were full of appreciation. He joked, âWho would have thought an illness that the famous doctors the Quirke family had invited and found impossible to treat would become less of a trouble in your hands, Dr. Jacobs. What you said sure does make us feel inadequate!â
His remark was a joke but also a fact.
After all, he was included among these helpless doctors. Rosalie smiled dismissively. âItâs but a field that Iâm familiar with.â Seeing her calm appearance, Yvesâ heart throbbed again. âBy the way, although Old Master Quirke hasnât recovered yet, the Quirkes have agreed to provide us with medicinal materials. We should be able to sign the contract today. Moreover, the first batch of supplies will be free. Itâs more or less a solution to our urgent needs. After that, we wonât have to worry about the medicinal materials anymore.â Rosalie turned to mention the supply of medicinal materials. Her face was all smiles at the thought of this. Yves raised a brow with surprise. âReally? The Quirkes are willing to sign a contract with us when Old Master Quirke has just woken up?â Rosalie nodded with a smile. At her affirmation, Yves praised, âIt looks like they were impressed by your medical prowess. Youâre indeed impressive.â Rosalie smiled calmly. âI just did something within my power. I hope thereâll be no more complications with the old masterâs condition.â âWith you taking action in person, itâll all go smoothly,â Yves assured.
