Chapter 517
My Ex-Wife and Kids Came In Like A Wrecking Ball
Chapter 517 Do We Wait For Uncle Byron To Eat Together?
On the other end, Byron did not hear Rosalieâs answer. His eyebrows twitched slightly, and his tone sank. âIf itâs inconvenient, Iâll send Luther over.â
Rosalie came back to her senses and said calmly, âItâs alright. Estie is already in my car. I was just about to call you.â
Hearing this, Byronâs expression softened. âThen Iâll need to trouble you for that. I have something else to do, so Iâll get going first.â
After speaking, he hung up the phone without waiting for Rosalie to respond.
A busy tone came from the phone.
Rosalie was stunned for a few seconds and put the phone aside, but the manâs voice still echoed in her ears.
Maybe she was overthinking it. However, perhaps due to the play rehearsals, Byronâs attitude toward her had become much more easy-going.
Sometimes, that even gave her the illusion that they were actually a family, including that moment just now.
However, the thought of Melody made Rosalie quickly pull herself away from those thoughts.
âMommy?â The little children in the backseat urged her inexplicably when they saw her pausing while starting the car.
Rosalie responded in a trance, slowly put away her thoughts, started the car, and drove home.
When they got home, Lisa had already prepared dinner.
Seeing that only the four of them came in, Lisa was stunned for a moment. âWhereâs President Lawrence?
They had eaten dinner together for the past two days. This time, only Estie came whereas Byron was nowhere to be seen. Lisa was not used to it.
She looked around behind them, but there was no Byron.
Lisa looked at Rosalie puzzled. It was as if the man was part of their family.
Seeing Lisaâs surprised look, Rosalie frowned slightly and realized that her feeling was not an illusion.
Her heart was inexplicably heavy. âHe⦠has something to do.â
Lisa understood and nodded. âThen shall we wait for him? Or should we eat first?â
Rosalie hesitated for a while.
When Estie heard Lisaâs words, a flash of light flashed in the bottom of her eyes, she looked back at Rosalie pitifully. âI want Daddyâ¦â
After speaking, she gently tugged on Rosalie. âDaddy always skips meals when heâs busy.â
Hearing what the little one said, Rosalie had no choice but to nod to Lisa. âLetâs wait a while.â
Lisa agreed.
Rosalie retracted her gaze in a complicated mood, she changed her shoes and took the kids in to wash their hands.
âMommy, are we going to wait for Uncle Byron to eat together?â Nox asked curiously while washing his hands.
The little boy heard Rosalieâs promise to Estie just now, but he also knew that Mommy was avoiding Daddy.
Rosalie gave a vague affirmative answer.
The little one tilted his head in confusion over Mommyâs reluctance.
âSince Mommy doesnât like Daddy, why did she agree to wait for Daddy to eat?â
Rosalie was oblivious to the little boyâs thoughts. She waited for them to wash their hands, then just as she came out of the bathroom with the kids, they heard a knock on the door.
Come to think of it, that should be Byron.
Thinking of this, Rosalie subconsciously put on a distant expression and stepped forward to open the door.
At the door, the man was wearing a suit and leather shoes. Even his tie was meticulously tied, and the corners of his eyes and brows were still a little tense as if he had just finished a meeting.
Seeing the manâs appearance, Rosalie was stunned for a few seconds. She then turned sideways to let him in. âCome on in.â
Byron nodded slightly. Their bodies almost touched when he walked past her and into the living room.
