Chapter 62
My Ex-Wife and Kids Came In Like A Wrecking Ball
Chapter 62 Urging You To Get Married âDad, Mom, why are you here?â Byron frowned as he asked.
Hearing this, Mrs. Lawrence, Melody, who had been worriedly checking if her little granddaughter was injured, rebuked, âI heard that my sweetheart went missing early in the morning. Shouldnât I be worried? I was so scared that I quickly pulled your father to come over here to have a look. Also, how could you not have told us about something so huge?!â Byron was speechless.
âEstie, tell me, where did you run off to?â Melody had confirmed that she was not hurt before pulling her into her arms affectionately. âHow could you run off on your own when youâre still so young? You scared me. You canât do this in the future, okay?â she said with concern.
Wendy also added, âIf thereâs anything youâre unhappy about, you can come and tell me. Donât run away without a word. Your grandparents were worried about you. I was also ready to head out and search for you. Fortunately, youâre back!â
Estie, who was being held in her grandmotherâs arms, showed a cold expression when she heard this.
She gave no response.
Byron knew that the little girl did not like this kind of atmosphere. He walked forward as if nothing had happened and took her from his motherâs arms. He calmly said, âSheâs very smart. She didnât run too far, so you donât have to worry.â, Estie hugged her daddyâs neck and buried her head into his shoulder.
Melody looked at her little granddaughter and felt distressed. She turned to her son and complained, âI think itâs because youâve been neglecting Estie from working all day. If you get married sooner, youâll have someone to take care of her. Estie wonât be so lonely. She wonât be thinking about running away from home all day!â
Hearing this, Byron frowned slightly. He was able to tell that his mother was going to urge him to get married again, so he immediately promised, âIâll try not to go out on weekends and stay at home with her in the future. I didnât plan to go out today, but there was an emergency in the company and I had to go.â
Melody did not manage to achieve her goal, so she simply went straight to the point, âDonât act stupid with me. When are you going to settle your marriage with Wendy? Wendy has been with you for six years. A woman doesnât have that much time. Donât you feel bad for her?â
Wendy, who was at the side, was holding onto Melodyâs arm thoughtfully with a shallow smile on her face. She was looking at Byron with some expectation in her eyes. In order to get a positive answer from Byron, she had specially gone to Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence to press for the marriage.
She did not believe that Byron would still refuse her.
In the next second, however, Byronâs answer once again shattered her anticipation.
âMom, Iâve been very busy recently. Not to mention, youâve also seen the situation with Estie.
She keeps running away from home recently, and her emotions are very unstable. I donât plan to think about marriage for the time being.â
Melody frowned and exhorted with a maternal earnestness, âItâs because of this that you need to hurry up and finalize your marriage. Wouldnât it be good if Wendy can help you take care of Estie with you?
She has always treated Estie as her own over the years,â
âMom!â
Byron cut Melodyâs words with a deep voice and said, âIâve said it. I donât plan to consider it for the time being, and Iâll be putting Estieâs wishes first. Donât try to persuade me anymore!â
Seeing Byron looking so obviously impatient, Wendyâs expression changed slightly, but she hurriedly stepped in to mediate.
âItâs alright, Iâm willing to wait. Iâll wait till Estie accepts me completely.â Hearing this, Melody was visibly moved. She patted Wendyâs hand, her heart aching. She was such a good child, so affectionate and gentle. Unfortunately, her son was reluctant to marry herâ¦
Hearing the conversation between the adults, Estie frowned slightly. As if she wanted that bad woman to be her mommy!
