Chapter 66
My Ex-Wife and Kids Came In Like A Wrecking Ball
Chapter 66 Iâm Not Close To You Andreaâs words made Wendyâs eyes shroud with uncertainty.
After getting rejected by Byron previously, in addition to the sudden news of this womanâs return, Wendy dared not wait any longer.
During this time, she had been trying every means to share Byronâs last name. Early this morning, Wendy intentionally invited Byronâs parents for a meal hoping to impress them while thinking that Byron would listen to his folks and change his mind.
The whole situation backfired while she bent over backward trying to please the little brat.
Nevertheless, Byronâs folks were there, so she had to swallow all that rage with a smile. At the end of the day, Wendy decided to go out shopping with Andrea in hopes to calm down her anger. She did not expect to hear such news. Many famous doctors could not make any breakthrough with Old Man Quirkeâs condition, but he was cured by Rosalie. Moreover, this woman had signed a contract with Andrius in advance to obtain a supply of medicinal materials for her research institute at half price!
âI did everything to get Coast Cityâs medicinal material suppliers to boycott Rosalieâs research institute.
Has it all been for nothing?â
Wendyâs inner thoughts were reflected in her cold eyes as she asked Andrea, âDidnât I arrange for a medical team to treat Grandpa Quirke? Didnât that suffice? Why let her take over his medical treatment?â
Wendyâs eyes shot daggers at the woman inches away from her as her anger continued to simmer in the pit of her stomach.
âAll that effort was spent, but this woman still managed to find a supplier in Coast City! Worst of all, this woman probably thought I was a joke and laughed at me behind my back!â
Andrea was stunned for a moment, then she hesitantly said, ââ¦Itâs not that the medical team you arranged for didnât suffice. This woman approached my brother herself. She managed to persuade my brother by improving Grandpaâs condition under her treatment. My brother has called the shots. Sheâll be responsible for Grandpaâs followâup treatment.â
At this point, it is useless for Wendy to say anything more. Her heart writhed in disdain, but her face was polite, âI didnât know that you were so capable, Miss Jacobs. Even a professional medical team canât compare to you alone.â Rosalie glanced at the screen of her mobile phone and replied indifferently, âThere are many things that you donât know. Now that you know Iâve signed a contract with the Quirke family, what other tricks do you want to play?â Wendyâs face sank abruptly, yet her tone was very innocent.
âWhat do you mean? You cured Grandpa Quirke and I canât thank you enough. How could I play tricks on you?â Rosalie could not bother to play pretend with her and said bluntly, âI think deep inside your heart, you know clearly what I mean. Besides, even if you have more tricks up your sleeves, I really donât care.â
Hearing this, Wendy lowered her face and did not answer immediately.
Andrea saw the two of them throwing daggers at each other and cautiously interjected,â Wendy, do you⦠know each other?â Wendy sneered, no longer concealing her hostility toward Rosalie.
âMore than that, Iâd say our fate is intertwined,â Wendy turned to look at Rosalie with all intention to provoke. âWouldnât you agree, Miss Jacobs?â
Rosalie heard this sentence as soon as she paid her bill. She raised her eyes and glanced at the two people in front of her. She responded, âI disagree, Miss Fuller. Iâm not close to you. Please donât say such words again, Miss Fuller. This will make me feel greatly troubled and uncomfortable.â
Wendyâs expression froze at the sting of Rosalieâs rejection, her eyes now full of anger.
âItâs getting late. The two of you should hurry in and have dinner. Have fun, ladies,â Rosalie nodded simply, then walked past them right out of the restaurant with her two little boys in tow.
