Chapter 81
My Ex-Wife and Kids Came In Like A Wrecking Ball
Chapter 81 What An Overbearing Man The three little ones shared a look, dropped the Lego blocks in their hands, and ran toward the kitchen.
âWhat happened, Mommy?â Lucian and Nox looked worriedly at their mother.
Rosalie snapped back to her senses and felt even uneasier as she looked at the two little fellas before her. She lowered her gaze as she barely suppressed the emotions in her heart. She smiled and shook her head at them.
âNothing much. My hand slipped and I broke a bowl. Donât come in, okay? There are pieces of broken glass everywhere.â When she was done, she nonchalantly squatted down to clean up the mess. The storm in her heart was still raging, causing her to zone out while she was picking up glass pieces.
Byron stood behind the three little ones. As he looked at the woman who was hunched on the floor, his eyes darkened.
He was not sure if he read her correctly, but he felt that this woman had her mind occupied.
Rosalie lowered her head as she felt the manâs gaze fall heavily on her, making her feel like a deer in the headlights. It caused chaos and turmoil within her heart.
She did not realize that she was pinching the sharp end of a broken glass piece.
She felt a sting on her fingertip. Rosalie jolted back into her senses and sharply inhaled involuntarily.
âMommy!â
âAunty!â
The three little ones shrieked in agitation as they watch blood ooze out of Rosalieâs fingertip.
Lucian and Nox were about to enter the kitchen when a tall figure grazed past them.
In a blink, they saw their daddy squat down beside their mommy. His face was icy as his huge hand grabbed their mommyâs pale wrist. The two boys paused in their tracks.
âWhat do you think youâre doing?!â The man sounded displeased. Rosalieâs gaze was fixated on the huge hand on her hand and could not react in time.
Immediately, she felt something wrap around her waist as she was hoisted up in an embrace. When she finally snapped back to her senses, she was already beside the sink. The sternâfaced man turned the faucet on and yanked her injured finger over to allow running water to clean her wound.
âYou guys wait outside. Donât come in.â Byron turned his head and reminded the three little ones.
The little ones may be worried for Rosalie, but they nodded obediently after they saw the man taking care of her.
Byron turned his head back and saw that the blood was washed clean off Rosalieâs finger. He took a clean handkerchief out from his pocket and wrapped it around her finger to stop the bleeding âThanks.â Rosalie lowered her gaze as she tried to pull her hand out of his. âIâve got the rest.â The manâs brows were slightly furrowed as his grip tightened. Rosalie tried tugging her hand, and when she could not free it, she felt a little frustrated. This man had already borne a child with another woman.
Estie was even watching on the side. She really did not want to be so close to him. Besides, all this man had for her was hatred, so why did he have to care for her like this? The more she thought, Rosalie looked at the man before her with a frown. Rejection was evident in her eyes. However, the man had no intention to be platonically courteous and said, âIâll dress the wound.â It was as if he did not see her reluctance.
He was about to hold her hand and lead her out when Rosalie gritted her teeth.
âI donât need to trouble you. Itâs getting late. You bring Estie back. I can handle the rest.â Upon hearing her words, the man who was walking in front paused in his tracks. Rosalie could vaguely tell that the man was unhappy, but that emotion disappeared quickly.
âYour right hand is injured. How are you gonna dress the wound yourself?â Byron suppressed the negative feelings within his heart and pulled the woman out without looking back. The three little ones scurried to follow closely by their side. Rosalie looked at their concerned gazes and stopped fighting.
She merely felt a little helpless. What an overbearing man.
