Chapter 222
Daddy’s Doting Addiction
Chapter 222
Philip, in a white suit, entered with his hands in his pocket. He sat down next to Jack on the sofa.
When Philip arrived, Sean had already told him about the matter.
âHave you really thought it through? Are you planning to tell Naomi everything?â
Jack furrowed his brows. His hands clutched the wine glass tightly.
âThe choice is hers.â
âOh.â
Philip mused. He adjusted his golden-rimmed glasses. His lenses reflected and sparkled under the light.
âIt looks like she hasnât decided yet, and you⦠Am I going to receive a wedding invitation
soon?â
âWhat wedding invitation?â
âAre you still pretending? You dare say that your feelings toward Naomi havenât changed?â
âBoss!â
A voice interrupted Jackâs sentence. Then, Daniel strode in.
âYouâre still injured! How could you drink?!â
Seeing the glass of wine in Jackâs hand, Daniel immediately rushed over worriedly. He reached out,
about to take the glass away.
Jack swerved and avoided it cleverly.
âIâm fine. I can drink.â
Daniel came to his senses and slapped his head. He smiled and said, âOh, Iâve forgotten about it! Youâre
a Super Saiyen! You can recover quickly from any injuries.â Jackâs expression darkened when he heard
what Daniel said. Non-human, Super Saiyen⦠Those were words that he hated the most!
In his dreams at night, he could always recall what happened ten years ago in that endless darkness that
turned him into a monster! Jackâs dark eyes flashed an eerie shade of red. The next second, he downed
the wine in his glass!
âHey! Boss! Why are you drinking this?!â Suddenly, Daniel picked up the bottle on the table and yelled
out frantically.
âWhat is it?â Philip asked curiously.
Daniel said awkwardly, âThis is the wine to cure my insomnia! I added some substance to it!
Usually, all I need is two sips to fall asleep. Youâve already drunk an entire bottle!â âShut up!â Jack leaned
back on the sofa dizzily. âF*ck! Heâs going to fall asleep! I wanted to have some fun at the club!â âI have
something going on too. Why donât I send my little sister-in-law a message?â Philip adjusted his golden-
rimmed glasses, looking wise. Then, he picked up Jackâs phone and sent a message to Naomi. (Hey, Iâm
Jackâs friend. Heâs drunk Please come and take him home. The address isâ¦) At the exact moment, on
the outskirts of Gin City, Susan rested in her dressing room. Naomi hugged a pillow, lying on the table
listlessly. Feeling lost, she came to look for her best friend for ideas
Once she was at the film set, she told Susan everything that happened between her and Jack that
aftemoon.
âSusan, I canât think right now. What should I do?â âHave you thought about how to answer his
question?â
Facing Susanâs serious expressions, Naomi shook her head.
âNaomi, this is no joke. The Houghs are at the top of the social pyramid. Jack has thousands of enemies!
Once you choose to understand him, you two are no longer in just a contractual relationship.
âFrom then on, you and he are tied to the same boat. You must face the same number of times he faces
danger and death!â
âI understandâ¦â
Naomi lowered her head. She thought about how she was backed up to the wall by him that afternoon
and what he said to her.
âMy world is constantly filled with blood! Do you want to know my secret? Do you truly want to know me?
Are you ready?â
At that moment, her phone on the table lit up. Philipâs message popped up on her screen. Naomi saw the
message.
She subconsciously picked her phone up, about to reply. She was about to type when Susan stopped
her.
âNaomi, only the closest people would risk their lives together. Your contract with him is soon over. You
can live a normal and peaceful life by not knowing his secret. Iâm guessing that Jack isnât telling you
because he wants to protect you.â
When Naomi heard what Susan said, she lowered her gaze. Her fingers slowly let go of her phone too.
Perhaps, Susan was right. That was what Jack intended. She was not his other half. They were doomed
to be apart. âOkay. Then, I wonât go and pick him up.â
