Naomi jerked to a halt at Jack’s words. She raised her head to glare at him.

“You deserved it! Someone was so merciless and told me to get lost!” Naomi let go of Jack’s wrist and

said in a chill voice, “Nothing is wrong with you. You’re making a fuss!”

Naomi then took a step back and was about to leave.

Immediately, however, Jack grabbed her wrist and shoved something in her hand.

Naomi opened her palm and checked. It was her favorite autumn pear cake.

Then Jack’s low voice rang out above her head, a hint of imperceptible apology in his rusty tone, “I won’t

say that to you again. I promise!”

Naomi felt indignant inside. ‘That’s how Stinky Daddy apologizes?’
