Chapter 51
Daddy’s Doting Addiction
Chapter 51
âMiss Spence, youâve misunderstood. Weâre not speaking about you. Weâre just commenting on my
sisterâs skirt.â
Clarissa was surprised and happy to see Lucy Spence. She quickly explained to Lucy.
She had deliberately worn a skirt that was famously designed by Lucy just to gain Lucyâs favor.
Lucyâs reaction was far from what Clarissa had expected it to be. She had simply ignored Clarissa and
walked to Naomi.
âI designed this skirt. Itâs a limited edition piece, and this is the only piece available in the entire world!â
âWha⦠What? You designed this skirt?!â
Sherry Frank was so frightened that her lips turned white. Clarissaâs smile stiffened too. How could that b
e?
Naomi was just a broke b*tch with no money nor connections. How did she get the money to get and
wear the clothes that Lucy designed?!
âLooks like you all donât really like my designs. Well, I wonât force you to stay. You may leave!â
Lucy spoke coldly. She had shocked Sherry and the group of girls. They were all dumbfounded!
This meant that they would all be banned from the glamorous world of high fashion just by the order of
Cezanneâs vice president!
âNo⦠We didnât mean it that way,â
âAll of you, listen to me. Miss Naomi is not just our guest for todayâs event, but sheâll also be our guest for
all future events!â
Lucy glanced sideways at the staff around her. Her solemn announcement showed clear support for
Naomi.
âYes!â
The bodyguards and employees answered in unison and respectfully said Naomiâs name. âMiss Naomi.â
âNaomi, come with me. The press conference is starting soon,â urged Lucy. She personally led Naomi
toward the hall and completely ignored Sherry and the other girls.
Meanwhile, Sean and Jack were on the second-floor balcony.
Sean was pleased to see how things had turned out. He hit the handrail excitedly.
âSir, youâre right. Miss Naomi is truly amazing. Look at how this group of girls are so surprised that sheâs
Miss Spenceâs guest!â
Sean turned to Jack immediately after he said that only to see that Jack wore a dark expression on his
face.
âDo you work for her or me? Why are you so happy?â âUh⦠Of course, I work for you, sir!â
Sean was startled by Jackâs question and quickly retracted his smile.
Jack raised his glass and took a sip. Somehow seeing someone else saving the girl had irritated him.
Sean, however, was slow on the uptake and continued to talk about Naomi. He made too much noise for
Seanâs ears
âSir, why are you unhappy? Did you have a fight with Miss Naomi?â
âShut up! Iâm not unhappy right now!â
âUh⦠Understood!â
Sean was lost for words. He quickly zipped his mouth.
Naomi followed Lucy and greeted other guests in the hall. Naomiâs charming appearance left a strong
impression on the guests.
âLucy, thanks for saving me today. Otherwise, I wouldâve been chased out.â
Naomi leaned on Lucyâs shoulders, acting like a child. No one else had pampered her after her motherâs
passing
âNo one will hurt you with me around!â
Lucy patted Naomiâs head and said gently, âThe product launch conference and auction is about to start
soon. Shall we head over?â
âOkay,â Naomi agreed obediently. She had heard of Cezanneâs annual tradition. Their summer season
product launch conference was always accompanied by a charity auction.
Many influential rich people would donate their treasured collections to the charity auction. It was a
chance for Naomi to see the world.
Lucy led her to the first row in the hall. As she looked up, she happened to see Jack walking toward her.
Subconsciously, Naomi had raised her head and puffed out her chest in an effort to appear bolder. She
greeted him aggressively.
Lucy greeted Jack with a smile, âMister Hough, thanks for coming. A pleasure to have you grace our
small event!â
âItâs my pleasure to be here as well. Thanks, Lucy,â said Jack politely.
His gaze swept past Lucy and focused on Naomi, who stood beside her. Naomi was dazzling tonight.
She was more beautiful than anyone else.
Contrary to everyoneâs expectations, Naomi was rude when she spoke, and she even grimaced at him.
Then, she turned around and refused to look at him. Jackâs expression instantly turned dark.
