Chapter 71
Daddy’s Doting Addiction
Chapter 71 At Tarragon Bay. âAchoo! Achoo! Achoo!â On the other end of the phone, Susan asked
worriedly, âAre you okay, Naomi?â âIâm fine. Maybe my enemies are cursing me or something,â Naomi
replied as she pulled up the blanket and snuggled into the couch. She held her phone in one hand and
her laptop in the other. On the coffee table next to her was a bowl of unfinished instant noodles. It was
quite a pathetic
She suddenly found herself missing Mister Daddyâs cooking. Naomi shook her head violently the second
that thought entered her mind and slapped her cheeks to wake herself up. Jack slammed the door in her
face and left without so much as an apology after saying those horrible things to her the day before.
Someone like that was not worth mulling over! Susanâs anxious voice came through the phone once
again. âSpeaking of enemies, Iâm sure Clarissa is thinking of ways to get back at you after what you did
today!â
â
smirked, âI already have an idea about what sheâs planning.â
âAre you thinking of beating her at her own game?â Naomi tilted her head and smiled. âYou know me so
well.â She stared at the screen in front of her, which displayed the Greensâ recent stock prices. âBy the
way, whatâs the progress on that thing we talked about before?â Naomi added as her tone turned serious.
It was a crucial part of her plan. âDonât worry, we got the deal. Your dad will never find out that Shaw
Pharmaceuticals belongs to you!â âPerfect!â Naomi beamed. She had put together a few formulas and
asked Susan to work with a few pharmaceutical factories to develop them. She had planned to slowly
expand and go against the Greens, but she did not expect the performance of her familyâs company to
be so poor that she could surpass them in a matter of days.
Susan replied, âThe only thing is that weâve used up all of the startâup capital...â Naomi responded
immediately, âDonât worry, Iâll handle the money. Actually, that will be settled anytime now!â âWhat are you
planning to do?â
âJust wait and see.â Naomi tapped away at her laptop keyboard and sent Nine a message. [Nine, Iâll only
be picking up orders of a million dollars and above from now on.] Naomi was about to respond to
Susanâs question when her phone suddenly started vibrating, signaling that another phone call was
coming in.
It was her father.
âSorry, Susan. The person with the money just got here. Iâll have to hang up now,â Naomi said. âAlright,
Iâll talk to you later,â Susan replied. Naomi ended the call with her friend and answered Scottâs call. âWhat
do you want?â âCome home for a bit tomorrow. Thereâs something I need you to do.â His tone was
obnoxiously demanding as if Naomi was less than one of their servants. âSay whatever you need to say
on the phone!â Naomi responded coldly as she raised her brows. She no longer had a reason to show
any respect to her scumbag of a father! âHow dare you speak to me that way? Where are your
manners?â Scott yelled furiously. Naomi glanced at the calendar on the coffee table, then asked, âDo you
know what day it is today?â âWhat?â Scott snapped in a confused tone, then continued, âYou have no
shame! How could you embarrass her in front of all of those people? She was even forced to drop out of
school! Apologize to her immediately!â âHeh...â
