Chapter 43
Contract With Alpha Logan
Chapter 43
Kylie POV
My mind froze. The prisoner stopped and tilted his head to look at me. He smirked and stepped forward to clutch
the bars of his cell.
I dragged my gaze away from him because I had to focus on Shir, but why was it I had this feeling that he was. connected to this incident? From the corner of my eyes, I saw Zoe and Fenris coming inside. Unlike all other times, this time Zoe didnât stand right next to Graham. She stood behind him at a distance.
âI wonât release him!â Graham growled. âHe was caught selling secrets of the pack to that wolf.â He pointed to
the wolf in the next cell.
âWho caught him?â I asked.
âOur warriors. Zoe got a tip from someone and she informed me.â
I scoffed. âHow convenient that is, isnât it? Zoe gets a tip from someone that Shir is selling pack secrets to Alpha
Logan?â
âLuna Kylie, my sources have confirmed that Shir was selling the secrets to this wolf. And this is not the first time he has sold,â Zoe added in her defense.
I turned to look at her and narrowed my eyes. With my arms crossed tightly against my chest, I said to him, âDonât you think this is the most ludicrous accusation you could make?â
She added, âWe also know that the secrets were sold on your orders.â
âAnd where did Shir go to give these secrets?â I asked.
âAt the packâs borders on the east.â
I c o c k e d an eyebrow. âOh!â I went to her and circled her. When I came to stand right in front of her, I said, âI knew you were dull, but I didnât know you were so dull.â
She clenched her teeth hard. âHow is that dull, Luna Kylie? I know you are feeling bad because you were directly involved in it, but you canât just insult me like that.â

âKylie, Zoe is right. You canât insult her. Now that I have proof that you were involved in it, I canât allow you to go anywhere. Until I decide, you canât leave this pack and you have to prove your innocence,â Graham said in a
stern voice.
Though fear gripped me from within, I resolutely shook my head. âGraham, I didnât know that she could take you as a fool so easily.â My words enraged him but I didnât wait for him to react and continued, âWhy would Shir sell packâs secrets to that wolf and that too on the east of the Lunar packâs border? Isnât it where the Brownfur pack is?â When I mentioned the Brownfur pack, Zoe flinched a little, but it was so momentary that I thought I imagined it. âShouldnât he go to the west border, which is closer to the Nord pack?â
Grahamâs throat bobbed, and he looked at Zoe for support. Zoe immediately intervened. âHow do we know why
Shir and this wolf met on the east border?â
I turned to look at the wolf in the next cell. âWhatâs your name?â I asked.
âQuid,â he replied with a hint of a smile.
âSo Quid, you met Shir on the east of the border to take the secrets which he could have easily delivered to you on the phone, right?â Quidâs smile faded. âI mean, doesnât that show that Shir is extremely stupi d? He will go to sell the packâs secrets on the east border where our wolves patrol at all times of the day. And how could a rogue even enter the borders of the Lunar pack without getting noticed by the patrolling party? Isnât that just too
convenient?â I almost shouted.
Everyone around me, including a few warriors and councilors who had followed us to the dungeons, went silent.

Graham shifted in his place, feeling ridiculous. Zoe came to stand with him and held his hand. Her eyes with tears. âAlpha Graham, I donât know what Luna Kylie is up to, but I only helped you catch the culprit.â
Graham removed his hand from her immediately, much to her dismay. He returned his attention to me. âWhatever you say doesnât lessen the fact that Shir was involved in selling our packâs secret. And I didnât expect you to be involved!â
I tipped my head up and let out a laugh. âGraham,â I said. âFirst, why will I ask Shir to sell secrets of the Lunar pack to Alpha Logan? I am the Luna of the Lunar pack and have all the secrets right here in my mind,â I said, tapping my temple. âI can directly tell him everything, canât I?â
Murmurs burst amongst spectators as Graham became uncomfortable. Zoe lowered her face as her face
reddened.

âSecond, why would I ask Shir to give secret papers to this wolf called Quid, who I donât know personally? Had you been in my shoes, you would have given such an important task to someone you didnât even know?â Graham opened his mouth to say something, when I put my hand up to stop him. âAnd how did Shir connect with him? I mean, how did they know where to meet? I am sure there were some phone calls. Can you show me Shirâs phone, where I can see a log of his registered calls? Or should I ask the IT team to send me the details?â
This time, Grahamâs face puckered up like he had eaten a sour lemon. âLook Kylie, I donât care. You are here and I need to talk to you!!
I could see how impatient he was to take me to his room and talk to me, but I needed to get Shir out of the cell. âWait,â I said. âI have to interrogate Quid.â
Quid smirked when I turned to him. It wasnât a reaction of someone who was imprisoned. âYes Luna?â he asked, leaning his forehead on the bar in front of him as he clutched the bars on the side.
âHow do you know Alpha Logan?â I asked.
âI donât know him, but I know you.â
I chuckled. âEveryone knows me because I am the Luna.â I crossed my arms across my chest and asked, âWhich pack are you from?â
âIâm a rogue,â he replied confidently.
âAnd yet you smell like⦠melons.â
He jerked his head back, and I couldnât help but wonder about his reaction. I ignored his reaction and said, âHow do you know Zoe?â And he flinched.
âKylie, he is a rogue. We have identified it already!â Graham interrupted. âAnd he was working on your orders!â
I turned to him. âSays who?â I snapped.
Graham sucked in sharp air. âHe confessed.â

So you are giving more value to a rogueâs confession than your Lunaâs?â I shouted.
Graham froze momentarily. âItâs not like that-â

âThen what is it, Graham?â I demanded. âI never ordered Shir to sell pack secrets to anyone. So set him free!â
I
âIf I set him free, I will be forced to expel him from the pack!â Graham said, as if giving me an ultimatum.
This also meant that he accepted Shir wasnât guilty. I knew from the beginning that this was a ploy to get me back. I noticed Fenris had paled. âThen so be it!â I growled. âBut set him free because I have proven that he is not guilty. And what are you going to do with Quid?â
âIâll take care of him,â Zoe said, her face filled with embarrassment. âHe will be sent to a maximum security cell.â
âWho are you to decide?â I snapped at Zoe.
She opened her mouth and snapped it shut, glancing at Graham. âI was just-â
âEnough! This case is over.â Graham growled at her. I saw Zoeâs face grow pale as a sheet. âSend this wolf to solitary confinement!â Then he grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the dungeons. âWe have to talk!â
