Chapter 159
BENEATH HER DARKNESS: The Alpha's Little Demon
BENEATH HER DARKNESS: The Alphaâs Little Demon Chapter 159 Chapter 7 â Good Evening LUCIUS.
âAre you not going to answer me?â Lucy asked, her brows furrowing as she stood beside her mateâs seat while I lounged on the couch inside their office.
Two days after I left their home, I was back again. âI went here to visit Luther, not to be interrogated. â I hissed, annoyed to be looking at them instead of my nephew.
âWe want to know what your plans are.â It was Stone.
âSo you offered three weeks to spend with humans? Are you sure you can manage?â Lucy asked again. âWhat the fuck is so hard about spending time here? And correction, three weeks with Patrea not with all humans on this fucking planet.â
Stone chuckled until Lucy rolled her eyes at him. âWhy do you worry? Whatâs so hard about that?â âA lot! Unlike shifters, demons have power that just comes out when theyâre furious. First, you canât have your eyes blazing red all the time. And then the hissing has to stop.â
âBut Stone is allowed to growl every five minutes?â âHe does when heâs with shifters, not with humans. II âI donât growl every fucking five minutes.â Stone butted in.
âThe fuck you do.â
âStop, both of you. So, can you manage? Can you control your outburst? You canât burn people just because you hate them or because they bump you on the street. And you canât order them to do things for you. You have to clean the house, water the plants, wash dishes, cook food, and fix your bed...â âDo you even do all that, Lucija?â I asked although I knew the answer already.
âWe have omegas around, but Patrea doesnât have any,â Stone answered for her.
âBesides, youâre going to live with two witches. Can you control your outburst?â It was Lucija again. âWait. My deal is just with Patrea. Whatâs with two witches?â My forehead creased, not enjoying this conversation.
âWhat will you do with Althea?â
âSend her to the underworld, perhaps. I donât want her there.â I scoffed.
âHow sure are you that you wonât harm Patrea or the people around you?â
âYou donât trust me, do you?â I asked my sister, and my brows hiked up as I waited for her response. âLucius, I trust you around here because almost everyone knows you already, but out there...â
âI will fucking behave!â I hissed.
âHow sure are you?â âPatrea hasnât agreed yet, and Iâm being interrogated already. Can you fucking ask her if sheâ s okay with that or not? Then I donât have to go through this with you if thereâs nothing there for me.â
âShe said yes already,â Lucija says almost immediately.
âWhat?â My body jolted forward as I swallowed an invisible lump in my throat. Did I hear Lucy right? â She said yes?â âYes.
Althea will stay here, as Patrea doesnât want her there when youâre around.â
I couldnât help the smirk that crossed my face as I repeated my words. âShe said yes.â
âI want your word, Lucius, that you will not create havoc there. And that you will do your best to behave.â
âDid I ever not behave while I was here?â
âYou have nothing to be upset about in here.â âWhat do you mean? Something will upset me there? Like what? People meddling in my affairs? Females staring at me? Iâm used to that.â
âMaybe the other way around. Males checking out Patrea...â Stone added, and I saw the evil smirk he threw at me.
I was certain this man was born in the wrong body and deserved a throne in hell. O âNo way,â I said as I shook my head.
âWhat do you mean, no way? Do you think no one fancies Patrea?â Lucy asked, a teasing smile curling on her lips.
âIs there something I should know?â
âI just want to prepare you. Patrea has a hot neighbor.â She added.
I was about to say something when Stone growled. His eyes dilated before he closed them when Lucyâs hand began massaging his hair.
âThatâs according to Althea. And she believes he is constantly keeping an eye on Patrea.â
âIâm not threatened. Iâm just there for the contract. She can do whatever she wants with her life. If you expect me to be growly and possessive like Stone, itâ s not going to happen. I fuck and I will leave. Easy. Done.â
âSo why go through the hassle of three weeks when you can just let her submit to you for one night?â Stone asked, his mouth twitching into a smirk.
âIâm trying to be considerate here because my fucked-up father damaged Patrea. Iâll try to help her get over it.â
âA demon psychiatrist. Impressive.â He chuckled. âShut up.â
Stone laughed, and I wanted to leave them, but I had more questions, so I ignored him and focused my attention on Lucija, who was now sitting on his lap.
âDid she say when I could go? Or should I ask her?â âI talked with her this morning, and she said you can move in anytime, but to let her know at least a day ahead.â
âThen tell her Iâm coming tomorrow.â
âYouâre driving there tomorrow.â
âDriving? No fucking way.â
âKingston will drive you there and take Althea here. No buts, no ifs. You canât just pop out there like a hidden boyfriend. People need to see you actually go through the door.â
âThe fuck they care if I go through the door or the window, or the fucking chimney.â
âLetâs do it the human way, Lucius. You agree to live with Patrea, then you need to do it her way.â
I grunted, and leaned my back on the couch, sliding my ass lower in a lazy position. âAnd if I say no?â âSpend three weeks alone in the underworld then.â Stone butted in.
âWhy are you both meddling with us anyway?â I snapped at them.
Instead of being offended, Lucija laughed heartily. She looked like she was enjoying this.
âThink whatever you want, King Lucius, but once youâre here, the females get to decide. Okay? Now letâs get you ready...â
âReady for what?â
âWardrobes, shoes, personal hygiene, and maybe we should cut your hair. Just trim it a bit.â
âDonât you touch my hair.â I hissed at her.
Everything I objected to just fucking happened.
Lucija changed my hair into a short one, and I was now seated in Kingstonâs car. I teleported us thirty minutes away from Patreaâs house so I wouldnât have to sit for a fucking four hours to get there, but if it were my way, I would just let us appear on their driveway.
Lucija also prepared luggage for me. I didnât have an idea what was inside, but at least she didnât push me to pack them myself because I knew at the end of the day I would still be using my power to put clothes on me.
I just let my sister push me around and make all the decisions, as I just wanted to get the hell out of their packhouse and meet Patrea. If there was one thing I was looking forward to, it was that Althea would not be around. I didnât need to watch myself around her, as Patrea seemed to have accepted me the way I am.
And yes, I wanted the witch for myself.
So after I had left instructions to my right-hand demon, Dorion, I left Kalmerus and sat inside the car with Kingston.
I could still go back and forth in the underworld, but I had instructed Dorion not to call on me for petty things that he could handle.
âWeâre here. That house on the left, with a black gate around it, thatâs their house.â Kingston pointed with his finger as we slowed until the car came to a complete stop.
They had a barricade around them. Good. No one could just barge in and head for the door without permission.
âNow, when they open the door, we greet them good evening,â Kingston stated and he was trying to stifle his laugh but I didnât stop mine.
âThe fuck. Iâm sure Patrea wonât mind if we donât.â âDo you want to win the girl?â He asked.
I stopped laughing, and I was sure my face turned deadly when I looked at him as he immediately raised his palms. âIâm just saying, females, dig it when youâre a gentleman.â
âIâm not a gentleman. She knows that.â
âOkay, just a piece of advice, but it doesnât mean you need to do it.â
âLetâs go inside.â I didnât have to answer him. I was not here to become mushy and bend to whatever Patrea wanted. I just wanted her to trust me that I would not violate her body and allow me to fuck her, and then I would be out here.
Kingston nodded, and I climbed out of the car. The sun was about to set, so it was still light outside, and there were still people passing by.
And the females were gawking at both of us. Not bad.
I opened the back seat, grabbed the duffel bag, and threw it over my shoulder before I followed Kingston as he entered the gate and went directly to the front door.
My eyes went around the perimeter of their house until I saw the blinds on the window next door. Someone was looking, and if this was the male that Lucija was talking about, then he would be in for a show as the front door was directly in front of his window.
An evil smirk graced my lips as Kingston knocked on the front door while I stood behind him.
After a few minutes, I heard hushed voices and footsteps approaching.
Althea.
Althea opened the door with a wide smile on her face as her gaze shifted between me and Kingston. â Patrea, theyâre here!â
She said it so loudly that I wondered if she wanted the whole neighborhood to know.
âLet them in,â Patreaâs voice came, and I leaned my head to the side so I could see where she was.
She smiled and waved at me, but I could see her hand shaking. She was nervous, and I was fucking sure her heartbeat was as loud as mine. I was just good at silencing mine.
âNo, I think we should get going,â Althea stated, still standing by the door as she turned her body around and motioned for Patrea to come over.
âI agreed. Itâs a four-hour drive. The earlier we start driving, the earlier we can be home.â Kingston agreed with Altheaâs words.
Patrea finally came by the front door, and I couldnât stop the fucking grin from forming on my lips. She was wearing a simple, fitted white shirt that she tucked into her black jeans, and she let her black hair down.
Just beautiful.
âGood evening...â I greeted her, even before I could stop myself, and I saw Kingstonâs head snap in my direction, but he didnât say a word.
âGood evening, Lucius.â Patrea greeted me back as she leaned on the door frame in front of me, her lips curling into a smile.
I could still feel someone watching from behind me, so I leaned over and pressed a kiss on Patreaâs forehead.
I initially wanted to kiss her and let my long tongue out, but I remembered I had to take it slow. That kiss of a saint on her forehead might be a minor gesture, but the fucker behind the window should see that as a sign to back off.
Patreaâs body stiffened as her cheeks turned red. If she was upset, I didnât notice, but she did drop her gaze away from me.
âOh... kay.â Althea broke the silence and went back inside to grab her luggage. âI think Kingston and I should go, as we are definitely not needed here.â âRight,â Kingston chuckled as he took Altheaâs luggage.
âAre you both sure you donât want to eat dinner here?â Patrea asked them again.
âWeâll grab food along the way,â Althea answered her before she pecked Patreaâs cheeks and grabbed Kingstonâs forearm, dragging him along with her as she walked out of the house. âEnjoy!â
My brows raised as my gaze followed them out of the gate and into the car while my hand was rubbing my chin.
It took a while before the car moved and drove away, but I remained looking at the spot they left. âDo you want to come in or...â Patrea said, and my gaze moved from the gate to the window next door. I saw the blinds move â this time whoever was behind it left the window.
I turned my body around and stepped inside, which was already a familiar place since Iâd been watching her from my hologram in every corner of this house.
Patrea closed the door behind us.
This was it. Welcome to human life, Lucius!
I wanted to chuckle at my own thoughts, but I suppressed any emotions from showing on my face. âYou have a bag.â Patreaâs voice sounded amazed.
I just nodded and tilted my head to look at her before dropping the duffel bag on the floor.
She was shifting on her feet, her hands on the inside of her jeans pocket, and she had a wide, nervous smile.
âAre you okay?â I asked.
âDo you want to eat?â she asked back.
âYou?â I asked back again.
âNo, not me!â She chuckled softly, a red tint creeping on her cheeks, and it made her look innocent. I was not used to seeing her this way. âI mean to say if you want to eat food.11 Wait. Did she think I said I wanted to eat her out?
I smiled and shook my head. âI meant to ask if you wanted to eat. Because if you do, then I will eat.â
âOh, spirits! Iâm sorry! I...â She placed her hands over her face, and if her cheek was red earlier, it was much redder now.
âNo harm done. But I will take that offer one of these days.â I told her and walked into the small dining room, giving her time to gather herself and allowing myself to smile broadly as well.
This was fucking new to me. Iâd been smiling a little too much.
And the house was too bright â too bright for my liking but maybe we could compromise to dim the lighting a bit.
I pulled the chair and was about to sit when I remembered the way Stone pulled a chair for Lucija, so instead, I waited and motioned for her to come over, which she did without saying anything.
And she sat on the chair I pulled out.
Well, that felt good.
Good thing I could silence the beating of my heart, or she would know her presence and everything she was doing was making my useless heart pound too hard.
