Wife 102
The Cherished Wife
Chapter 102
âMr. Harris, Director Harris from Frotconn is waiting for you in your meeting room.â Robertâs
secretary knocked on his door. âWhat should I tell him?â
âHow long has he been waiting?â Robert put down his pen and glanced at his watch. âTell him Iâll be
there in a moment.â
âOkay.â
Robert frowned as he looked over the report that had been brought up that morning, then at the
document on his desk. He took a deep breath and headed to the meeting room.
Robert was a very charming middleâaged man who still maintained the same sparkle he had as a
youth. However, after years of being outmaneuvered by Charles at Collosus Group, he had aged
quite a bit.
When Robert opened the meeting room door, he saw Joseph quickly stand up, looking as if he was
greeting someone very important. âMr. Harris.â
Robert raised an eyebrow. âWhat brings you here?â
âI⦠I wanted to ask if thereâs been any trouble at Collosus Group lately.â
Robert quirked an eyebrow. âWhat prompted you to ask that?â He had not caught wind of any such
talk, and besides, with Charles at the helm of Collosus Group, there was no reason to worry.
Joseph bit his lip, wondering if Robert was truly out of the loop.
âJust tell me!â Robert checked his watch. âIâve got another meeting soon.â
âCollosus Group has been cutting back on orders from Frotconn lately⦠Did you know about this?â
âReally? Thatâs news to me.â Robertâs eyes darted around, showing his surprise. Then, he grew
serious. That canât be right. You know Collosus Group has always taken good care of Frotconn.
There shouldnât be any issues like this. Did your company do something wrong?â
Josephâs face fell. He could understand if Collosus Group was cutting orders because they noticed
a mistake. However, he had thought it over and could not figure out what they might have done
wrong.
âCould you talk to Mr. Hoffman for us? This year for Frotconn has beenâ¦â
âMr. Harris!â The secretary rushed in, leaned in close to Robert, and whispered urgently. Robertâs
expression transformed in an instant, his hands gripping the sofa arms tightly. âAre you sure about
this?â The secretary nodded, looking serious. âItâs true. Someone saw Ronald taking away Mr.
Lowry yesterday.â âRonald?â Robertâs face darkened. Ronald was Charlesâs rightâhand man. If
Ronald was involved, it meant that Charles was too, and nobody knew the consequences of that
better than Robert.
âWhy are you only telling me now?â Robert asked.
âWe werenât sure what was going on until today. Mr. Lowry didnât show up for work, soâ¦â The
secretary was worried too. His absence was a big deal, so they had checked on it right away. âAnd
the person from the secretarial office didnât come in today either.â
âOkay, got it,â Robert said, dismissing the secretary with a wave. He turned to Joseph. âBuddy, Iâve
got to handle some things today. Iâll talk to Charles about what you mentioned later.â

With that, Joseph was shown the door. He was confused and wanted to say more, but Robert did
not wait any longer. He had someone escort Joseph out.
