Wife 127
The Cherished Wife
Chapter 127
âGosh, theyâre so sweet. You know, Iâm wondering why I even bothered watching a movie with you.
Itâs one thing to see such sweet interactions in a movie, but itâs happening in real life as well.
Meanwhile, I feel like a neglected puppy.â
The manâs displeased voice rang out, âAre you a bitch? Youâre so unreasonable today!â
âWhat did you say? Try calling me a bitch again!â the womanâs voice, which took on a rough edge,
rang out. âAm I a bitch?*
âDid I say you were a bitch? You were the one going on about feeling like a neglected puppy.â
The girl said, âYou donât love me anymore.â
The guy answered, âDo we have to act in such pretentious ways for you to believe that I like you?â
Noelle was speechless. Why were they getting dragged into the fight? She turned to Charles and
said, âHe said weâre being pretentious!â
âYep, itâs because heâs jealous of us!â Charles concluded before he picked up another piece of
popcorn and stuffed it into Noelleâs mouth. âHave some!â
Noelle marveled at how childish he could be at times.
To be frank, she did agree with the man when he said she and Charles were being pretentious.
However, she did not dare say that out loud because though they were not dating, they were
married!
Besides, everything Charles had done today was quite thoughtful, satisfying the tiny bit of pride
within her. At least now, she was enjoying the time she was spending with Charles.
The movie ended, and Noelle ended up being the one who ate most of the popcorn they had
brought into the theater as well as being the one who drank most of the soda. She began feeling
unwell as they walked out of the theater.
She felt like her stomach was about to explode âItâs all your fault. Why did you feed me so much
popcorn?â
âI thought you liked it!â Charles said as he directed his gaze downward to look at Noelleâs stomach.
Then, he said confidently, âItâs gotten a little rounder!â
âCharles Hoffman!â Noelle gritted her teeth. âCanât you say it more nicely?â
Charles smiled, his mood brightening as he watched Noelle grit her teeth at him. He reached a
hand out to take Noelleâs, wrapping his large palm over her small one, âAlright, what would
you like me to say?â
âWhat do you think?â

âThat Iâll love you no matter if youâre in the shape of a ball or a pancake?â Charles asked as he
narrowed his eyes.
Noelle bit down on her lip and tugged her hand free from Charlesâ grasp. âYouâre so annoying!â
Noelle strode forth as she spoke, and a smiling expression appeared in Charlesâ eyes. He grinned
ruefully as he watched the petite woman walk away. In a couple of long strides, he caught up to her
and took her hand.
Noelle felt a warmth envelop her hand and smiled slightly as she watched Charles take her hand
into his. âShould we head back now?â
âYes. Or do you want to continue shopping?â He added, âI can accompany you if you want to
continue shopping!â
âItâs not that,â Noelle said as she shook her head. âMy car is still at the teahouse!â Then, she bit
down on her lip. âHave you forgotten?â
Charles grinned. âDonât worry, Iâve already asked Ronald to get the car back home. You donât have
to worry!â
âWhen did that happen?â Noelle asked, shocked. âBut the keysâ¦â However, she reminded herself
that it did not matter because Charles had his methods, and he would have thought things through
more thoroughly than she did. He would have considered all these factors.
âDo you want to continue shopping?â
âCan we?â Noelle thought about it briefly. âWill you be recognized?â
The cautious look on Noelleâs face amused Charles. âDo you think Iâm some sort of celebrity whoâll
get surrounded by fans whenever Iâm in public?â Charles lightly knocked a finger against Noelleâs
nose as he asked, âWhatâs going through your mind?â
