Chapter 150
The Cherished Wife
Chapter 150
âYou came here in the middle of the night just for this?
After a long silence, Charles finally asked, âAre you afraid?â
Noelle felt a bit lost and nodded. âI am a little scared. Will you help me?â
he realized she was genuinely
Charles curled his lips into a smile. Seeing Noelleâs anxious expression frightened. Reputation was
indeed very important for a woman. âYou donât need to worry about this for now. Iâll take care of it.â
Since they were already married, he would not let this matter go unchecked.
Seeing Noelle visibly relax, he smiled. âDonât worry about it. Itâs late. Go rest.â
Noelle bit her lip. Her previously agitated mind was now calm thanks to Charles.
She trusted that he would help her. She could not quite pinpoint as to why she believed this, but she
just felt that Charles was reliable.
Seeing Noelle still standing there, Charles raised an eyebrow. âMy darling wife, are you waiting to
invite
to bed?â
âHuh?â Noelle quickly looked up and shook her head âNo. I⦠Iâll go rest now. You should get some
rest
too!
She hurried to the door but then paused and turned back to say, âCharles, thank you!â
As Noelle disappeared through the door, Charles retracted his amused gaze and called Peter. âI
might need your assistant for a couple of days.â
âOh? Whatâs in it for me? Are you in any trouble?â Peter responded.
âJust a small issue. Charles tapped his finger on the desk. âDidnât you want the development rights
for the land in the south of the city? Collosus Group is withdrawing from the bid.â
Peter scoffed, clearly unimpressed. âCharles, youâve become quite the shrewd businessman.â
âKeep your observations to yourself.â Charles smiled. âSend Lareal over tomorrow. Heâs better with
computers than Ronald.â
âAlright.â
Peter agreed. After Charles hung up, Peterâs eyes held a hint of amusement.
Collosus Group had never been very interested in the land in the south. Now that Robert was
detained, the one who had been clamoring for that land was gone. Charles was not going to rush
into it.
That was why Peter had scoffed.
Peterâs gaze deepened as he called Lareal. âYouâll be going to Charlesâ place for a few days.â
Understood!â Knowing Peter well, Lareal understood that if Charles asked for him, it was for
something important. âWhen do I return?â
âAsk Charles!â Peter replied before hanging up. In his dimly lit study, Peter leaned back on his

couch with a cigarette between his fingers. His eyes were fixed on a book on the shelf. It took him a
long moment to snap out of his thoughts.
Time had passed so quickly.
The next day, Lareal went to Collosus Group to find Charles, only to discover that he would be
taking orders from Ronald..
This made Lareal somewhat unhappy.
Seeing Larealâs expression, Ronald nudged him. âHey, I saved you, and youâre still upset?â
Lareal glared at Ronald. âWhy do I have to take orders from you?â
âAsk Mr. Hoffman,â Ronald replied with a foxâlike grin. âLetâs get down to business. I need you to
hack into someoneâs computer.â
âYouâre always making me do this kind of stuff,â Lareal grumbled.
âJust because Iâm good at it doesnât mean I want to spend all my time doing shady things!â He gave
Ronald a sideways glance. âWho is it this time?â
