Chapter 188
The Cherished Wife
Chapter 188
Charles took the paper and glanced at it, his brows furrowing together. âAre you sure?â
Sean replied, âDonât you trust me? I tested it myself. So, you need to be careful, and keep an eye
on your
wife.â
âYes. I understand,â Charles nodded, putting away the test results. âSince youâre here, stay for
dinner.â
âOf course.â
The two friends went downstairs together, and they could hear the pleasant laughter of the three
women in the living room. Charlesâ lips curled into a warm smile.
Sean glanced at Charles and chuckled. âYouâre definitely smitten.â
Charles shot him a look. âDonât want dinner anymore?â
Sean shrugged helplessly. âIâm just joking. No need to be so serious!â
Noelle and Rowena were reminiscing about their school days, sharing embarrassing stories from
when
were classmates and dorm mates. They knew each other inside out.
âWhat are you lovely ladies talking about?â Sean walked over, smiling harmlessly.
Noelle stopped laughing and greeted him, âMr. Smith.â
âNo need to be so formal, Noelle. Call me Sean or Seanie,â Sean said, acting very familiar. âAnd
these beautiful ladies areâ¦â
âOh, let me introduce you. This is Sean, Charlesâ brother from another mother. Sean, these are my
best friends, Rowena and Teresa.â
âHello!â Sean nodded with a harmless smile.
âHello!â Teresa smiled back.
Rowena suddenly asked, âIs that car outside yours?â
Sean raised an eyebrow and nodded. âYes, Ms. Rowena. Why?
Rowena gritted her teeth. âSo, you were the one who taunted us on the road earlier?â
Sean saw Rowenaâs angry expression and realized that he might have indeed taunted them earlier.
The car he had seen was one he had lost to Charles in a bet, and he had thought it was Charles
driving it
slowly.
So, he overtook it and teased the driver. He had assumed it was Charles and had been puzzled
when the car had not caught up. Now, he understood the misunderstanding.
âDid Charles give that car to you, Noelle?â Sean asked Noelle.
Noelle nodded. âPhoenix Tree Residence is quite far from the office, soâ¦â
âI see.â Sean smiled harmlessly again. âThat car was one I lost to Charles in a bet. You know as well
that Charles doesnât like that style, so he never drives it. It suits you well.â
With a few words, Sean explained the misunderstanding. He had thought the driver was Charles,
which

was why he taunted them.
âOh, I guess itâs just a misunderstanding.â Noelle smiled. âIâll go check on Charles in the kitchen.
You all sit tight!â
Noelle headed to the kitchen, leaving the others to chat.
