Chapter 284
The Cherished Wife
âIs that the right thing to say?â Peter sneered, âSean, you werenât the studious type in school, were
you?â
Peter finished speaking and walked away directly. Sean raised an eyebrow. âI wonder, Peter, are
you jealous? Are you?â
On Charlesâ end, when he heard the manager say that Peter had sent over a bottle of wine, he
raised an eyebrow. âThey left?â
âYes, they just left. Mr. Lennon said he had something else to attend to.â The manager glanced at
Noelle again, still unable to believe what Sean had said. This woman was actually Charlesâ wife?
When Noelle heard that Peter had sent over the wine but left, she had a good impression of Peter.
She thought he was a person who knew how to carry himself.
However, Charlesâ dark eyes showed a flash of light as he sharply glanced at the manager, who
immediately withdrew his gaze and awkwardly left the room.
âYour friend seems quite decent!â
âDecent?â Charles raised an eyebrow. âNaturally, he is decent.â Such good wine, and he was willing
to part with it. However, Charles knew that Peter wasâ¦
Charles tapped the table with his long fingers. âLetâs eat. Iâll take you to meet them next time!â
âOkay!â Noelle lowered her head and looked at the dishes on the table, which looked quite
appetizing.
She had never been to Bamboo Grove House before, but when she worked at Frotconn, her
colleagues often mentioned this place. They said that Brookville had a few mysteries.
One was who the boss of The Majestic Lounge was, and the other was who the owner of Bamboo
Grove House was.
Although Bamboo Grove House was just a dining place, not everyone could enter. Even if you had
money, it still did not guarantee you could get in.
Seeing how the manager treated Charles this time, Noelle had some guesses.
âWhat are you thinking about?â Charles placed some food on Noelleâs plate and noticed she
seemed lost in thought. âYouâre not even focused while eating.â
Noelle snapped out of it and smiled at Charles. âNothing. I was just thinking about who the owner of
Bamboo Grove House is, and judging by the managerâs attitude toward youâ¦â
âYou think Iâm the owner of Bamboo Grove House?â Charles chuckled and placed some more food
on Noelleâs plate. âItâs not me,â
Noelle raised an eyebrow. âThen who is it?â
âIâll introduce you another day!â Charles smiled. Just then, there was a knock on the door.
Charles raised an eyebrow. âCome in!â
Noelle was startled when she saw Ronald entering with lan Quinn from Curio Corner, âMr. Hoffman,
Madam!â
Compared to Noelleâs surprise, Charles was much calmer. He glanced at Ronald, âDid you bring the
item?â
âYes, Mr. Hoffman. I brought everything you asked for.â lan carried with him a long wooden box.
He walked over and handed it to Charles, âThis just arrived a few days ago, a painting from the
Tangorian Empire. It has some flaws. Originally, I planned to have it restored before giving it to you,
Mr. Hoffman. But Mr. Wells said you needed it now, soâ¦â
Charles raised his hand. âYes, this is perfect. Leave it here!â
Noelle was shocked and then came to her senses. âIs this for my grandfather?â
