Chapter 1273
My Wife is a Hacker
âOkay then, I will head upstairs now.â âOh, by the way, what would you like for lunch? I will make it for you.â Tia looked at Nicole and asked.
âAnything is fine,â Nicole replied.
âOkay.â Tia watched Nicole who proceeded to upstairs, after which the latter went to the dining room.
Jared pushed the door in as Max was interrogating the man was kneeling in front of Nicole back in the parking lot.
When Max saw Jared, he respectfully approached the latter. âMr. Johnston, this guy is pretty tight-
lipped. He wonât say anything.â
Jared looked at the man, walked over, and sat down in front of him as he studied him. âWhy were you following that woman?â
âI have said it many times; I didnât follow her. It was just a misunderstanding.â The man stared at Jared with a miserable look on his face, not expecting that things would end up where they were.
âA misunderstanding, you said? Then tell US what you know.â Jared shot him a cold stare.
âYes. Well, the thing is, after I sat down, I saw that beautiful girl walking over, and as she looked really good, I sneaked a couple of extra glances. As I passed her on the way to the bathroom, the plane suddenly jolted and I bumped into her. Before I knew it, she pinned me to the floor and asked me who had sent me. I was confused, as no one sent me here. Iâm just an ordinary guy.â The man looked at Jared, his eyes filled with shame as he begged for mercy.
âThat is enough. Break his arm and let him go,â Jared said, as he had heard the full story, concluding that this man was just a molester, and that there was no one behind him.
âAye,â Max said.
âPlease donât!â the man yelled. âI know I messed up! Please let me go!â
Jared walked right out without another glance backward. âDrive me to the office.â
âOkay,â Max uttered.
Now at the office, Jared was seated his chair with his head filled with images of Nicole.
âIt has been so long. Does she have to be so mad at me? If Martin hadnât told me, I wouldnât have known that she was back in the country. Is she not even going to see me anymore?â A series of questions lingered in Jaredâs head, leaving him in no mood to work.
A phone call came in, prompting Jared to pick his phone up and answer it.
âMr. Johnston, weâve got news. The McCarthys are returning to the country tomorrow to visit the graves of their forefathers, but we found out that one of them has returned to the country long before that.â
âFind out who that person is.â Jared instructed in an icy tone of voice.
âUnderstood,â Jaredâs man said.
Nicole was about to fall asleep when her phone suddenly rang. She reached for the phone and tapped the âanswerâ icon, whereupon Harveyâs voice came through.
âNicole, are you still at the airport?â Harvey asked in an anxious tone of voice.
âNo, Iâm back at home now,â Nicole said lazily.
âYou are sleeping?â Harvey asked, though he could tell that she was by the sound of her voice.
âYeah, is there anything else? If not, just hang up already.â Nicole tossed the phone aside, ignoring him.
âGet some rest, then. I will see you tomorrow if youâre okay with that.â
After having heard no reply from Nicole even after a while, Harvey knew that she must be asleep, and so, he hung up.
