Chapter 1419
My Wife is a Hacker
âYouâre not at fault. No one expected this to happen,â Nicole said, comforting him.
âThank god you were alright,â Martin said. âOr else, what do I even tell Jared later?â
âAlright, alright. Go to the security room. Check and see how the nurse left the hospital. Sheâd definitely have revealed herself after leaving this place,â Nicole told Martin.
âIâll go look into it right away,â he said.
âOkay.â
At noon, during the very next day, Harvey bought a meal from the Blue Whale Cafe and visited Nicole.
As he opened the door with the meal in hand, he saw Nicole and Martin talking about something.
When the two saw him walking in, they stopped.
Nicole looked at Harvey and asked, âUh, why are you here?â
Harvey lifted the food and flashed it before her. âDidnât you say you wanted to eat something from the Blue Whale Cafe? I went there to get some takeout before I came here. Want to give it a try now?â
âThankyou. Just leave it there first,â Nicole said.
âAlright.â Harvey placed the lunch box on the small table by Nicoleâs bed before looking at the two.
âWith this footage, leave the rest to me. You still have other things to see to.â Nicole told Martin.
âBut youâre really weak now. How are you going to deal with it?â Martin asked with a look of disapproval.
âWhat are you two talking about?â Harvey walked over and asked.
âNothing. Letâs have lunch.â Nicole glanced at Martin before walking over to the small table.
Martin looked at Harvey and said, âNicole, how about we let Mr. Ellison handle this? Heâs no stranger to us, and Iâm not really keen on letting you handle this.â
âWhat needs her handling? Sheâs a patient now.â Harvey looked at Martin with his brows raised.
He did not approve of Nicole needing to handle anything at this moment.
Martin did not tell him about it directly. Instead, he looked at Nicole, as though he was asking her if she wanted to tell Harvey or not.
Nicole then contemplated for a moment, âHarvey had been involved previously, and so, there is no need to hide this from him.â
âHereâs the deal. Someone pretended to be a nurse, got into the ward, unplugged the instrument monitoring Jaredâs vital signs, and poisoned my IV drip. Weâ¦â
Before Nicole could finish, Harvey interrupted her. âPoisoned?! How could that happened with so many bodyguards outside?â
âAre you alright, Nicole?â Harvey, who was shocked, walked over to check on Nicole.
âIâm fine. Thankfully, Martin was around at that time.â Nicole darted Martin a glance.
Harvey also gave Martin a glance before asking Nicole, âWho did this!? The audacity of him!â
âIt must be someone that hates me to the bone.â Nicole blurted out.
âYes, youâre right.â Martin looked at Nicole, having thought of someone from what she had said.
âYou meanâ¦â Nicole then thought of someone and could not help but to meet Martinâs gaze.
âWhat are you two talking about? Iâm quite lost.â Harvey said, totally confused.
The two ignored him as they continued, âSeems like thereâs no longer any need to investigate. We just need to grab hold of the person to get to the bottom of this.â
A cold glint appeared in Martinâs eyes. It was fine if he was the one who got hurt, but hurting Nicole was something he could never abide.
âIâve yet to fully recover, so Iâll not able to get that perpetrator myself.â
