Chapter 1422
My Wife is a Hacker
As Nicoleâs car gradually left the town, the view around her began to turn dreary and unfamiliar.
She saw a house from afar, but she was not sure if it was the same one whose location Harvey had sent her, so she made her way over there.
When she had pulled up, she scanned the decrepit building. There were a few cars parked outside, so she walked into the building carefully.
Nicole then sent Harvey a text. [Iâm here. Where are you?]
Harvey replied. [Iâm in here. Come to the second floor]
Nicole looked at the spiral staircase and kept her eyes on the second floor as she walked upstairs.
The moment he saw her, Harvey went over to greet her.
âPut this mask on.â Harvey passed her a mask.
Nicole grabbed it, wore it, and turned around with her back facing Harvey. Sitting somewhere nearby was someone with a sack over his head, tied to a chair.
Nicole approached the man who had been tied up and ordered the people around her, âTake that sack off.â
Lukeâs face appeared before her after his sack had been removed, and he was shocked to see two masked individuals standing before him.
He stuttered as he asked, âWho are you?! Why did you kidnap me?! 11 âYou donât need to know who we are. Just admit your recent wrongdoings if you want to live,â Harvey asked him in an altered tone of voice.
âI donât know what youâre saying. If youâre Jaredâs goons, you should know who I am by now. Youâll be better off if you release me now! If not, Iâll give you hell!â Luke threatened them, his glare fierce and murderous.
âJared? Why would you say that weâre Jaredâs people? Are you afraid of Jared because you did something terrible to him?â Harvey asked upon discovering the gap in his answer.
âIâm not afraid of him! He might not even wake up anymore, so why should I be afraid of a dead man?!â
âDonât even try to bait me. If you donât work for Jared, why have you captured me? We donât owe each other anything, so what do you want?â Luke asked, deducing that they were kidnappers who were after his money if Jared was not a part of the equation.
âWe just want an answer,â Nicole said all of a sudden.
âAn answer? An answer to whatâ¦?â Luke looked at Nicole.
âDo you know this nurse?â Nicole showed him a picture of the woman whom Martin had found.
Luke immediately recognized the person in the picture, but he proceeded to deny it. âNope.â
âThatâs a quick response. Did you even have a good look at it?â Nicole mockingly asked, as she knew that he was lying.
âI really donât know who this person is. If you wish to find her, why donât you just do it? Why do you have to tie me up?â
âHave a closer look, Luke. Iâm going to ask you one more time. Do you know this woman?â Nicole asked, her tone a lot fiercer than before.
Luke had many experiences with situations like this, so he was not going to admit to anything in a situation like this.
âIâve said it already. I donât know her. You got the wrong person,â Luke said, still attempting to deny it.
âAh, so youâre not going to spill, huh? Fine, Iâm not going to force you.â
âGuys, come over and give him a taste of the full-face mask,â Nicole ordered the bodyguards.
The bodyguards exchanged looks. As they had no idea what Nicole was saying, all of them stayed put.
âWhy are you not doing anything? Come on!â Nicole ordered coldly.
âSir, what does full-face mask even mean?â a bodyguard asked Harvey.
This was the first-time Harvey had heard that term as well, so he looked at Nicole with a slight frown and a brow raised.
