Chapter 2132
My Wife is a Hacker
âGrandpa, Grandma!â Nolan and Lana cheered, walking toward the sofa.
Daniel and Gloria could not hide their smiles. âOur darlings came home.â
Nicole came over and when she did not see the others, she asked casually, âDad, Mom, where are my brothers?â
âStanley has an academic symposium. Spencer and Samuel said they had something going on and wonât be coming back today,â Gloria replied.
âWhat are they doing? Are they going on a date?â Lana asked curiously, blinking her big eyes.
Gloria could not help but laugh. âNo, sweetheart, itâs work.â
âOh,â Lana muttered. âI thought they went on a date.â
Lanaâs disappointed tone amused everyone, and they burst into laughter. However, Nolan wore a gloomy expression, lowering his head listlessly.
Sensing his grandsonâs unusual behavior, Daniel asked softly, âNolan, whatâs wrong?â
âIâm fine, Grandpa.â Nolan shook his head lightly and stood up. âIâll head back to my room first.â
Nolan finished and went upstairs alone, clearly in a sad mood.
Daniel could not help but worry. ââWhatâs gotten into him?â
âDonât worry. Just let him rest,â Nicole said evasively, not mentioning Lawrence.
âGrandpa, Grandma, Iâll go upstairs too,â Lana said. She was still worried about her brother, so she followed him upstairs.
âArenât you going to have dinner with us?â
âI ate enough in kindergarten,â Lana said and disappeared around the corner of the stairs.
âShe ran off so quickly.â Gloria was relieved when she saw Lana was alright.
âMom, Dad, Letâs eat,â Nicole said. There was no need to wait for the others since they were not returning. So, it was just the four of them.
âAlright, letâs eat. We should check on the kids after we finish dinner,â Gloria suggested. Although the kids were okay, Gloria still felt uneasy, thinking of Nolan with his heavy expression.
âYeah,â Nicole agreed, and they entered the dining room.
After dinner, everyone went their respective ways. Gloria was the first who went upstairs and entered Nolanâs room.
âNicole, did the boy encounter something bad in kindergarten?â Daniel asked.
âThe kindergarten is having a parent-child day. We promised him weâll attend it. Donât worry, Dad,â
Nicole reassured her father without telling the whole truth.
Nolan had to figure this out on his own. No one else could help him.
âOh, itâs best if you could participate. Donât let the kid feel lonely when others have their parents, but they donât,â Daniel admonished Nicole, feeling relieved.
âYup, donât worry about it,â Nicole gladly agreed. She did have some concerns before, but Jared told her to forget them as he would handle them. So she genuinely believed everything would be fine.
They talked while going upstairs. Knowing Gloria had checked on the kids, Nicole and Jared entered their room.
âHow did you know about Lawrenceâs situation?â Nicole questioned as soon as they got in their room.
She had been curious before but held back the urge to ask since the kids were present.
âHe didnât tell you?â Jaredâs eyes flickered with a meaningful glint.
Nicole narrowed her eyebrows and replied, âHe did come to my company today, but how did you know?â
