Chapter 2279
My Wife is a Hacker
âHey, come on, it hasnât been easy for her,â Nicole said, her eyes showing a bit of coldness.
âOh, by the way, didnât Ellar mention seeing James with some girl before? I think I saw them together that day too,â Lulu suddenly remembered, lowering her voice as if afraid someone might overhear.
Nicole narrowed her eyes, thinking it was important to find out who this woman was and what she meant to James. âIs James falling for someone else, or does he want to take over the whole Riddle family business?â
âNicole, whatâs going on in your head?â Lulu whispered, noticing Nicoleâs silence.
Nicoleâs face turned serious, âLetâs have someone thoroughly investigate this matter, leave no detail unchecked.â
âSure, got it,â Lulu replied, her expression becoming serious as well.
The situation with James might have seemed like a coincidence once, but not twice. It was important to take it seriously.
While waiting anxiously in the DillCorpâs office, Raine couldnât help but pace back and forth until she heard the door open. When she saw James, she couldnât hide her displeasure, âWhat took you so long?â
âThe investigation took sometime, but I found something,â James replied, walking toward her.
Raineâs expression softened a bit. âWhat did you find?â
James handed over the information to Raine. âTake a look.â
As Raine read through the contents, her face turned pale with shock. âSnow⦠How could she?â
âI donât think she realizes how serious it is. Love has blinded her judgment,â James reminded Raine in a hushed voice.
Raine composed herself. âYouâre right. Everett teaming up with Harvey to come after us is despicable.â
If Everett and Harvey succeeded, DillCorp would slip away from Raineâs family, falling into the clutches of Everett and Damien, while Damienâs group would gain the power to challenge the mighty Riddle Corporation.
Raineâs face flushed with anger. She clenched her teeth, feeling that the ambition of those schemers was ruthless.
âWe canât let this news spread. We have to act carefully,â James warned Raine.
Frowning, Raine quickly realized, âRight, we canât let Dad know yet.â
After all, even with the evidence they had, there was no guarantee that Dillon would believe them. It might even tip off the perpetrators.
âTH keep an eye on this side. We need to find the perfect solution,â James said, his expression serious, as he couldnât afford to lose the prize.
âDo you have any ideas?â Raine asked James.
After a brief pause, James pondered and replied, âHow about making Snow lose her real power? If Harveyâs plan fails, Everett wonât get anything either.â
âThatâs a good idea. Iâll try to talk to Dad about it,â Raine immediately understood Jamesâs intention, and it was indeed a brilliant plan. She thought, âI can persuade Dad to stop trusting Snow. When that happens, Harvey will also turn away from Snow, and everything will fall into place naturally.â
âAlright,â James agreed, his gaze deepening.
Completely unaware of Jamesâs thoughts, Raine leaned into his embrace with a smile and said, âJames, I wouldnât know what to do without you by my side.â
