Chapter 2339
My Wife is a Hacker
âGet someone to keep an eye on Snowâ¦â Raine said, suddenly interrupted as someone knocked on the door.
That was when she turned her gaze to the door and announced, âCome in.â
The secretary entered, saying, âThereâs mail for you, Miss Riddle.â
âA mail? Who sent it?â Raine asked while eyeing the envelope in her secretaryâs hand.
Then, her secretary placed the mail down and explained,â There are no signatures or contact numbers on it.â
The only information on the envelope was the name of the receiver: Raine. Apart from that, there was nothing else.
Thus, the receptionist had initially hesitated before inquiring about Raineâs secretary, worried that the envelope was of some measure of importance. Because of this, she had gotten someone to send it to Raine.
âAlright, you can leave,â Raine sent her secretary out, her mind filled with doubts. She could not ascertain what that mysterious envelope was all about. Until she could figure it out, she did not want anyone else to know.
After picking it up, Raine carefully examined it, finding nothing but her name on it.
âThis wasnât mailed through a courier. Someone had sent it over directly,â James observed.
âThe person wanted to remain anonymous,â Raine opened the envelope, having understood the senderâs intentions.
When she found a few documents inside, she proceeded to take them out. It was obvious that the sender had chosen this approach just so that they could maintain their privacy.
Raine read the details on the documents and the look on her face shifted at an instant. Her shock was visible as her eyes widened.
âWhatâs wrong?â James asked, noticing Raineâs expression.
âHarvey and Everettâ¦are colluding,â Raine struggled to string together a complete sentence.
The news shocked Raine greatly. This revelation had made her wonder how genuine Harvey and Snowâs relationship might be, as Harvey and Everett were working together instead.
While Damienâs family and Dillionâs family had severed ties with one another on the surface as of recent, they had been at each otherâs throats for a long time now. With that said, Raine could only attempt to deduce the reason behind Harveyâs action.
âHarvey approached Snow for DillCorp!â James exclaimed, realizing the seriousness of the matter.
His face paled, finding it hard to believe the ambitions that Damienâs family had.
âThis canât be allowed to do that. I have to tell Dad,â Raine stood up, intent on looking for Dillion.
However, James held her back and warned, âCalm down. You might startle the enemy.â
âWe canât afford to wait any longer. By then, it will be too late!â Raine was anxious, worried that Harvey had already made his move.
âDad may not believe you if you confront him without any solid evidence. And if Harvey finds out about it, we will be rendered powerless in that situation,â James explained.
He feared that they would not be able to stand against Harvey without an ace up his sleeve.
Fortunately, Jamesâ analysis calmed Raine, who then asked, âWhat then?â
âSince weâve received the news, itâs up to us to find a solution,â James said, his eyes dark and cold.
âWhat solution?â Raine pressed.
Without a proper plan of action, Raine would not go out on a limb and act on pure impulse.
âSince Harvey and Everett have set their sights on DillCorp, why donât weâ¦â
After listening to Jamesâ plan, Raine slowly settled down, and eventually, she flashed him a smile.
âThatâs great. Letâs do it your way. Sure enough, your ideas are always great.â
âIâll make the arrangements. All you have to do is pretend as if youâre oblivious to the situation,â James explained.
Raine nodded. âI got it.â
After the couple had worked out a plan, James threw the envelope into the shredder.
