Chapter 2413
My Wife is a Hacker
MY WIFE IS A HACKER CHAPTER 2413-On the surface, Lawrence appeared supportive and willing to accompany Nicole for her examination. However, now that Nicole reflected on it, she realized that each time she had gone for her check-ups and treatments, Lawrenceâs anxiety seemed to be greater than hers. At the time, she had thought that Lawrence was just being concerned for her, but now she could not help but feel differently.
Especially this time when Lawrence had proactively suggested finding a doctor for her, which made her even more suspicious.
âWhatâs wrong?â Lawrence asked softly when he noticed Nicole hesitating.
âNothing,â Nicole replied, masking her thoughts with a faint smile. âThough I donât have high hopes, itâs worth trying.â
Lawrence reassured her, âEven though there hasnât been any progress for all these years, youâre now back in San Joto. Youâre in a familiar environment, so things might turn out differently.â
Nicole nodded with a slight smile, saying, âThanks, Lawrence.â
There was a brief, strange moment as Lawrenceâs expression stiffened slightly. Although Nicole was thanking him, he felt an inexplicable sense of oddness.
âCoffee is here.â At this moment, Lulu entered the room, NSZ breaking the unusual atmosphere.
âThank you,â said Lawrence.
Lulu smiled. âYouâre welcome, Mr. Lawrence.â
After saying that, Lulu did not leave and remained standing to the side, seemingly unaware that her presence was disrupting the atmosphere.
Lawrenceâs gaze darkened slightly. He continued chatting with Nicole for a bit before leaving.
Once he was gone, Lulu asked in a hushed voice, âNicole, why was he here?â
âNothing much. He just mentioned that thereâs an international expert in town who might be able to help with my condition,â Nicole explained.
Lulu seemed somewhat skeptical as she furrowed her brows. âIs the doctor he found reliable?â
âWhy?â Nicole could not help but laugh. âWhy is Lulu so resistant towards Lawrence?â
âItâs been so many years. If there really was a doctor who could treat you, you wouldâve been better ages ago, isnât it?â Lulu was confused.
âHe means well, and thereâs no harm in giving it a try,â Nicole replied calmly.
âDo you need me to accompany you?â Lulu asked.
Nicole tilted her head slightly, looking puzzled. âWhatâs going on with you? You seem to have some sort of resistance towards Lawrence.â
Lulu had indeed been acting a bit strangely today, and her attitude towards Lawrence had not gone unnoticed.
âJust a little bit,â Lulu admitted. âI overheard a conversation between Mr. Sean and Mr. Steve the other day, andâ¦â
âWhat did they say?â Nicoleâs intuition told her that it must be related to Lawrence.
âThey mentioned they had been investigating Lawrence for a long time, but they still hadnât found anything wrong with him. It made them suspicious, wondering if Lawrence was being cautious,â Lulu explained.
Nicole squinted slightly, and her voice unconsciously grew lower. âWhat do you mean?â
Lulu shook her head. âI only overheard that part, and then I left. I couldnât just stand there and eavesdrop, right? But since they suspect Lawrence, I canât help but think that it must be his problem.â
Nicole smiled as she realized that Lulu was fiercely protective.
âNicole, even though he saved you, please be cautious,â Lulu advised. She had not heard the specifics of the conversation, but she believed that Nicole should keep her distance from Lawrence.
âAlright, I understand. You can go about your business now,â Nicole agreed, dismissing Lulu.
