Chapter 2475
My Wife is a Hacker
âIs Lawrence the key to all this? Does he know something?â Jared thought.
Meanwhile, Nicole strode into DillCorpâs CEOâs office, and when she arrived, she looked around the refurbished room with a satisfied smile.
âNicole, you made it!â Lulu exclaimed, entering the room with several people in tow, each holding a folder.
âMs. Riddle,â they greeted with a nod, and lined up before her.
Nicole took her seat, briefly met their eyes, and began, âFill me in.â
âDue to poor management, DillCorp has gotten itself embroiled in financial troubles, making it hard for it to achieve significant progress soon,â one of them stated.
âWeâve noticed discrepancies in our accounts and are looking into them.â
âI also believe we should reconsider the employment of some of our staff. Some might not fit into our vision.â
Hearing the reports, Nicole massaged her temples. She knew DillCorp had its share of issues, but she had not realized the extent of them.
Taking a deep breath, Nicole replied, âI get it. Despite everything, Iâm impressed with how quickly youâve all stabilized DillCorp. I believe we can truly grow with all of you leading the way.â
âThank you, Miss Riddle,â the group replied. âWeâre on it.â
âJust focus on your jobs. Iâll be around for a few days to handle some company matters. I wonât intervene with your tasks unless itâs absolutely necessary. Just bring me the reports on time and according to schedule,â Nicole said, her voice steady and calm.
She had shown up mainly due to some issues pertaining to Everett, not to oversee DillCorpâs operations. If anything, she had complete faith in the team she had chosen.
âYes, Miss Riddle,â they acknowledged, before leaving the room.
âNicole, weâre a week ahead of your predictions,â Lulu said, her eyes shining with excitement.
Nicole nodded, satisfaction evident in her gaze. âEveryone has certainly shown what theyâre capable of.â
âThatâs because youâve got a good eye for talent. Werenât you the one who picked all of them?â Lulu asked.
Nicole raised an eyebrow. âThe best decision Iâve ever made was bringing you into Riddle Corporation.â
âObviously,â Lulu shot back, chin tilted up in mock pride, before bursting into giggles.
All of a sudden, a knock was heard on the door, and the secretary stepped in. âHere are the documents you asked for, Miss Riddle.â
After setting them down, she exited, and Nicole began perusing the papers while Lulu observed her closely.
âWhatâs the verdict?â Lulu asked, her eyes fixed on Nicole as soon as she had placed the documents down.
âItâs just as I thought,â Nicole replied, her voice icy and deep. âEverett has indeed planned to take advantage of DillCorpâs weaknesses to deal us a devastating blow.â
âAnd if he canât own it, heâll tear it apart. Sounds just like him, â Lulu added with a shake of her head.
âAfter all, Everett always thought heâd inherit DillCorp,â Nicole said with a determined glint in her eyes.
âHe must be really bitter now that itâs in my hands.â
âSo, whatâs our next move?â Lulu asked.
