Chapter 2530
My Wife is a Hacker
âForget it, letâs not talk about her anymore,â Lulu said, not wanting to dwell on that particular subject.
âHow about things here? Is everything going smoothly?â
âItâs alright. Now weâre just waiting for the results,â Nicole shrugged, looking rather calm.
âWhat about yesterday? Why did you go back to the family manor?â Lulu asked, her face taking on an expression of total seriousness.
âMy dearest Uncle Damien has set his sights on the headquarters. He wants Grandpa to step in, have the headquarters buy out NandoCorp, and then return it to them, â Nicole explained in a nonchalant tone, as if she was talking about someone elseâs story.
Lulu widened her eyes in shock. âWhat were they thinking? Itâs unbelievable!â
âHe hasnât had a chance to say it yet because I didnât give him the opportunity to do so. But everyone can see it. We can all see what heâs uptoâ Nicole shrugged, believing that everyone present understood the situation.
âYeah, well done,â Lulu nodded approvingly. âNo wonder Mr. Riddle Sr. wanted Nicole to be there.
Seems like Nicole is the only one who could deal with them.â
Lulu was smirking, delighted at the notion of how Damien was turned away before he could even say a word.
âHowever, I donât think they will give up that easily.â Nicoleâs gaze darkened. âDamien isnât a sitting duck. He wonât give up just yet.â
âWhat are they going to do?â Lulu murmured with a frown.â Everettâs out of the picture and their plan failed. What else can they do?â
âIf they give up now, I wonât go after them. But if they donât, they will get whatâs coming to them,â Nicole said.
The Riddle family was fine until they almost succeeded in getting Mr. Riddle Sr. killed. And now, even after they had lost the company, they still had the temerity to come after the headquarters. For all they had perpetrated, Nicole planned to teach them a lesson and show them they were messing with the wrong folks.
âHey, where do you think Everett has gone? Did he know that the company was going bankrupt, and so, he ran away before it even happened?â Lulu speculated.
âHe definitely has other plans in store. We need to be cautious,â Nicoleâs eyes narrowed.
âYeah, Iâll have someone keep an eye out,â Lulu assured.
Nicole glanced at Lulu and gave her a faint smile. âDonât worry, Lulu. Iâll handle it.â
Lulu blushed as she remembered what Nicole had previously said. The latter had urged her to sit back and wait until the day she became Spencerâs wife and not get involved in the companyâs affairs as much.
âI can still help out a little, canât I?â Lulu asked.
âOf course, help out as much as you want. Stay at the company if you will,â Nicole said with a pat on Luluâs shoulder.
In reply, Lulu chuckled and jabbed, âYouâre still asking me to take a rest, arenât you?â
Nicole shrugged and smiled. She did want Lulu to catch a break until she was married.
âOh, how time flies. Iâm getting nervous now that the wedding is happening soon,â Lulu said, her face scrunched up in anxiety.
âNervous about what? Youâre not getting cold feet, are you?â Nicole raised an eyebrow, finding it hard to believe that someone as optimistic as Lulu would have wedding jitters.
âCanât say Iâm not, but I just feel nervous. After all, itâs my first time.â Lulu grinned.
Nicole could not help but roll her eyes hearing this coming from Lulu. âItâs everyoneâs first time. Letâs not try to make it something youâve got to be experienced at.â
âHaha, youâre right,â Lulu laughed heartily.
After all, marriage was supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime event.
