Chapter 2666
My Wife is a Hacker
âMrs. Wallace Sr. How have you been recently?â Tia asked. She looked embarrassed as she met Mrs.
Wallace Sr.âs eyes.
âDonât worry about it, Tia. Iâm fine. Lunaâs been here taking care of me. Please donât pretend youâre fine when youâre not in the future, okay? Itâs worrying,â said Mrs. Wallace Sr. with some agony in her voice.
Mrs. Wallace Sr. had overheard that Tia had gotten pneumonia and was at the brink of death due to her delay in getting treatment.
âIâm sorry. I didnât mean to worry everyone, especially Mrs. Wallace Sr.â Tia had guilt written all over her face.
THIS Stanley spoke up and warned, âIf you donât want anyone to worry about you, please tell us if thereâs anything troubling you.â
âWell, enough about that. Everyone, letâs dig in,â he then said, clapping to get everyoneâs attention.
Everyone quickly changed the topic and started chatting amongst one another.
Tia sneakily took a glance at Stanley, an unreadable look was on her face.
âStanley had been taking care of me for the past two days. I mustâve been a hindrance to his work, but nobody ever brought it up,â Tia thought to herself. She suddenly felt pressure on her, though nobody asked her upfront about her relationship with Stanley.
âYouâve just been discharged from the hospital. You should be eating a healthy diet for the time being. No greasy or fried food either,â said Stanley.
It was then that Tia realized that the dish laid out in front of her was specially prepared for her.
âThank you, Mr. Riddle,â said Tia in an awkward voice, her cheeks flushed red.
âGoodness! You guys have been friends for so many years. Why are you still addressing him like that?â
Gloria asked with a raised eyebrow.
Flabbergasted, Tia dropped her fork onto the table. âPardon? n âLook at you, calling us so formally.
Weâre out strangers, honey,â said Gloria.
She then turned to look at Nicole.â Nicole, you ought to do a better job in persuading her to stop addressing us like that. It feels like thereâs a gap between us.â She sighed.
âMom, itâs actually no big deal,â said Nicole, dumbfounded by the situation.
âItâs just how Tia is comfortable in addressing everyone. Why should there be an issue about it?â she thought to herself.
âOf course you donât care. Thatâs you, not me,â Gloria retorted. She rolled her eyes at Nicole angrily before turning to look at Mrs. Wallace Sr. âMrs. Wallace Sr., why donât you decide? I donât feel as comfortable being addressed as Mrs.Riddle.â
Mrs. Wallace Sr. was taken aback by the sudden inclusion into the conversation.
âUmâ¦â
Mrs. Wallace Sr. looked at Nicole for a while, reminiscing the days when she first adopted Nicole as one of her own. Nicole had been under her care for the longest time and ever since Nicoleâs disappearance a few years ago. The Riddle family had stepped in and taken care of her but the issue at hand was tricky for Mrs. Wallace Sr.
âTia, in all honesty, it doesnât matter what or how you address anyone. I think you can try calling him his name as a step forward,â said Gloria, making up her mind.
Nicole nodded along as she did not want to put up a fight with her mother.
âIâm here to take care of Mrs. Wallace Sr. andâ¦â Tia trailed off. âHow can I simply just change the way Iâve been calling him for so long? Stanley?â âYou can call me Gloria,â said Gloria, unable to restrain herself. She noticed how much Stanley cared about Tia. If he had shown interest in Tia earlier on, she would have set them up on a date. Instead, Gloriaâs sudden input had made things far too complicated.
Suddenly, Stanley spoke up, âCall me Stanley.â
Stanley was also kind of done with being called âMr. Riddleâ all the time. It was like a gift from above that granted him this chance to correct her and break down the barriers between them.
All eyes were on Tia as they were looking at her expectantly. Tia bit her lip hard before taking a deep breath. âGloria, Stanley.â
âAnd me too!â chirped Daniel, understanding his wifeâs intention and plan.
Gloriaâs face was filled with satisfaction and Daniel was grinning from one ear to the other.
âDaniel,â squeaked Tia.
