Chapter 2670
My Wife is a Hacker
MY WIFE IS A HACKER CHAPTER 2670-After coming to an agreement on the project, Nicole and Jared bid goodbye to everyone and left the Biz Club.
Nicole was rendered speechless. âI could never wrap my head around it. How could such an important business negotiation happen at such a serene place like this?â
âYouâll gradually get used to this. In fact, some projects are completed this way,â
explained Jared, smirking.
Nicole nodded. âI see⦠This way, I guess one can hold a meeting with a clear mind without external factors bothering them. The success or failure of the meeting will all depend on the individuals involved, with no intervention of third parties.â
Jared interlocked their fingers together. âThe most important thing here is that it saves a lot of trouble.â
Nicole shrugged. âYouâre right.â
âAfterall, the scale of this project was quite extreme. If it were to undergo a bidding or investment method, it might not even be resolved within a few months. Companies after companies would come flocking in and come at each otherâs throats. The workload to process all this would immensely skyrocket, and most work done would be meaningless if it were to fail,â she thought.
Nicole took a glance at Jared, one eyebrow raised. âThis is the exclusive social circle, isnât it?â
Jared looked down at Nicole with soft eyes. âIf you put it that way, then yes.â
âWell would you look at that? Itâs almost lunch time. Letâs go grab some food first,â said Nicole, humming after she scored the project.
Jared looked at her affectionately. âSure, letâs go.â
Jared took Nicole to her favorite restaurant for lunch where they took a seat by the window while admiring the people walking up and down the street.
Glancing out the window, Nicole rested her chin on one hand and sighed. âLife goes by in a blink of an eye, without realizing that weâre all passersby by default.
Not many can stay by your side for a long time.â
âWhy are you being so deep all of the sudden?â asked Jared with an affectionate look on his face.
âI just feel that ever since I came back here, I feel like Iâm very lucky to have survived and escaped all that,â said Nicole.
âIf it werenât for Nolan who sneakily came back here to participate in a competition, I wouldâve never stepped foot here. Iâd never have known I have missed an entire lifetime before me,â she thought.
Nicole looked Jared in the eye. She took Jaredâs hand into hers and held it tightly. âI feel grateful that fate or any divinity out there gave me the chance to come back here to be reunited with you again.â
Jared caressed the back of Nicoleâs hand gently. âTil make sure we wonât lose one another again.â
âJared Johnston. Thank you,â Nicole said earnestly.
âClose your eyes,â said Jared.
Nicole was confused. âWhat? Why?â
Jared chuckled. âYouâll find out real soon.â
âWow, Mr. Mysterious,â muttered Nicole as she obediently closed her eyes. She suddenly felt something cold placed into the palm of her hand.
Nicole subconsciously opened her eyes and saw a small jewelry box in her palm.
âWhatâs this?â
âOpen it and take a look,â said Jared, eyes warm.
Nicole opened the box and saw a necklace inside it. It was the exact same necklace she had seen in the magazine before. Nicole had just casually mentioned how beautiful it was before turning the page to look at other things.
She had not thought that Jared had taken note of it and bought it based on her casual remark.
Nicoleâs heart fluttered. Her eyes were filled with happiness. âThank you.â
âCome, Iâll help you put it on,â Jared offered. He took it out from the box and helped Nicole put it on.
Nicole touched the necklace after Jared had put it on for her. Her heart skipped a beat, the butterflies in her tummy doing somersaults. It was the happiest Nicole had ever been.
