Chapter 2710
My Wife is a Hacker
Benjamin looked at Nicole and said, âSorry about this.
After giving him a smile, she replied, âGrandpa, please donât say that. Iâm fine.â
âYou canât say that. Youâre only fine because youâve got your wits about you. If something really happened to you, weâd all be heartbroken,â Karen remarked dramatically.
In response, Nicole gave her a blank stare without exposing her true intentions. She understood that Karen was just trying to bring Damienâs family down, and so, she was determined to not pay any attention to any of these little schemes of hers. After all, they would not have any impact on the situation.
Upon noticing Nicoleâs silence, Karen began to feel a little embarrassed and could only shut her mouth.
âGrandpa, Iâm going home now if thereâs nothing else,â Nicole said.
She was not in the mood to stay here any longer. In fact, she was feeling somewhat tired.
âGo home and get some rest.â Benjamin nodded, knowing by the look on her face that some rest would do her good.
âOkay,â Nicole replied and walked off with Jared beside her.
The air in the living room became tense and heavy at once. Daniel and Gloria had initially come with the intention of visiting Benjamin, but now that this had happened, no one was left in a good mood.
âYou donât need to stick around. All of you can leave.â Benjamin waved his hand, signaling for everyone to leave as he was feeling a little depressed too.
After exchanging looks, Daniel and Gloria got up. âAlright, weâll head back now.â
âGo on,â Benjamin said, his voice deep and low.
After Daniel and Gloria had left, Karen was about to say something to Benjamin when Dillion stopped her.Books Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updatesâ¦
âDad, weâll head back to our room too. Let us know if you need anything,â Dillion said with a hint of concern.
Benjamin nodded, after which Dillion pulled Karen away.
âWhy didnât you let me speak?â Karen asked Dillon with a tone indicative of discontentment.
âThis matter is over. Donât get involved anymore,â Dillion warned.
âWhy? This is such a great opportunity. How could you let it go?â Karen said indignantly.
This was the perfect chance forthem to destroy Damienâs family.
However, Dillion, who begged to disagree, simply glared at Karen. âWhy are you so stupid? Didnât Raine do what Chloe did?â
Karenâs face immediately blanched, and she softly muttered, âBut Raine is no longer around.â
âJust because sheâs gone doesnât mean theyâll forget what she did.â Dillion sneered as if to tell Karen how stupid he thought she was. âIf you feel that life is too easy now, you may go ahead and say whatever you want in the future.â
With that, Dillon left Karen alone and returned to his room on his own.
âI canât believe she allowed herself to get carried away like that,â he fumed.
The family had accepted them, and no one had mentioned Raine and Snow ever since. Still, that did not mean that everyone had forgotten what they had done. Therefore, it would be wise for the two of them to behave themselves if they wanted to live the lives they had currently been granted.
He did not want to go back to living on the streets again, so he was willing to keep his mouth shut. As long as his father was happy, nothing else mattered. And as long as Dillion could stay, he would not poke his nose into anything else.
Karen trembled as she heard Dillion slamming the door, and in less than a second, the fog in her mind cleared.
