Chapter 2731
My Wife is a Hacker
âFor your own sake, itâs better not to ask,â Patricia reprimanded.
She did not have answers to some of the questions he had posed, and even if she did, she did not reserve the right to tell him. The less he knew, the safer he would be.
Ellarâs face blanched once he had heard Patriciaâs reply.â Donât you trust me?â
âYou wonât be of much help if you knew, and on top of that, it might put you in even more danger,â
Patricia admitted frankly, as she was not withholding information from him out of distrust.
In fact, she knew who Ellar truly was, and she trusted him because Nicole trusted him, However, Ellar was still unwilling to back down. He did not understand what was going on, and the more he thought about it, the more worried he was. Now that he had the opportunity to gain some clarity on the issue, he wanted to seize it.
Patriciaâs eyes darkened as if she had read Ellarâs thoughts.â If you donât have any other questions, you may stay and have lunch on your own.â She did not wish to have a meal with him while he interrogated her with questions that she herself did not have the answers to.
Upon coming to the realization that Patricia was about to leave, Ellar quickly decided to drop it. âOkay, I wonât ask any further.â
âLetâs eat,â Patricia said coldly, and lowered her head to begin her meal.
As for Ellar, he was relieved to know that she would not leave, and that was when he started eating as well.
During the meal, Ellar would look at Patricia every now and again, which caused her to furrow her brows. âCan I help you?â
âUh, yeah.â Ellar panicked as he averted his gaze.
âIf you have something to say, just say it. But make sure that itâs something I wonât mind hearing,â
Patricia warned.
Upon hearing that, Ellar immediately assured her, âDonât worry. It has absolutely nothing to do with the anonymous letter.â
âOkay,â Patriciaâs tone softened, and she signaled Ellar to proceed with whatever he was about to ask.
Ellar hesitated for a few seconds, and after taking a deep breath, he firmly asked, âDo you have a boyfriend?â
Patricia paused as she looked at Ellar, her eyes wide in surprise. It was as if time had stopped for her.
For Ellar to ask her a question like that was something she had not seen coming. âWhat the heck is wrong with him? Why does he want to know about this?â âYouâre not saying anything. Is it because you have a boyfriend, or is it inappropriate for me to ask?â Ellar queried, looking disappointed and nervous at the same time.
After looking away, Patricia calmly answered, âThatâs none of your business.â
âWhy not?â Ellar became even more anxious. âIf you donât have a boyfriend, I would like to be yours.
But if you do, I promise I wonât get in the way.â
Patricia was at a loss for words when she saw how sincere Ellar was. For the first time, she was rendered speechless.
She did not expect Ellar to confess his feelings to her out of the blue, and on top of that, they had just met. âWhy would he say something like that?!â âNo, no matter how long we know each other, thereâs no way our relationship could progress into something like that. Itâs just out of the question,â she thought.â
âIâm done eating.â Patricia placed her cutleries down.
âHey, donât go.â Ellar ran after her, his heart racing.
âDonât follow me, and please donât concern yourself with my affairs,â Patricia said coldly, keeping her distance.
Ellar hurried a few steps forward and stood in front of Patricia, blocking her.
There was an earnest look on his face as he explained, âIâm not joking, Patricia.
Iâm dead serious about what I just said.â
âThat has nothing to do with me.â Patricia retorted.
She had no intention of listening to what he wanted to say; she just wanted to leave. She did not know why, but her heart was stirring in confusion.
