Chapter 2757
My Wife is a Hacker
âFor the first time in a long time, he openly announced his relationship with her to his family. For him to do something like that takes a lot of courage. He mustâve thought very highly of her. I donât want to be the third wheeler here,â Tia continued.
With an expression of sympathy on her face, Cherry looked at Tia and said, âTia, have you never once considered that the person you love shares the same feelings for you too?â
It was at that moment that Cherry understood why Tia was so afraid of crossing the line. âShe cares much more about Stanley than Iâve previously thought.â Cherry then reflected on how Tia had reacted when she attempted to pair the two of them together. Whenever Cherry tried to create opportunities to bring them both closer together, Tia would crumble into a panicky mess.
âMy efforts have pushed her to the point where she would guard her emotions even more fiercely. Iâm afraid that dragging this on in the long run will obliterate whatever feelings they have for one another in the long run,â Cherry inferred.
It was at that moment that Cherry began blaming her parents again for how things had turned out. âI would not have gotten in the way if I knew it was going to mess the both of them up. I wouldnât have done this if my parents werenât as pushy as they were.â
Then, an idea suddenly occurred to her, and she reached out to grab Tiaâs hand.
âListen to me, okay? Stanley really likes you and whatever it is that is happening between Stanley and I, itâs all just for show.â
Tia was rendered speechless at an instant. âItâs allâ¦for show?â
What Cherry said had left her in complete disbelief. âWhat is she blabbering about?â âTo be honest, I was just helping Stanley out with a mutual favor for each otherâ¦â Cherry began, after which she told the entire story in full detail to Tia.
âWhy are you telling me all of this?â Tia asked, her brows furrowed in confusion.
âBecause Iâm going to be leaving soon.â Cherry smiled. âIâm going to live abroad with my true love where we will both be free from all that nonsense.â
âSo you have a real boyfriend?â Tia asked while struggling to wrap her head around the information Cherry had filled her in on.
She found it difficult to process what Cherry had just told her, and at this point, she could not help but wonder if this was all just a dream.
âYeah! Why would I lie to you? Stanley has done me a huge favor, and Iâll be damned if I donât return it.
That is why I came here to talk to you about this,â
Cherry explained.
âOh,â Tia murmured as the realization dawned upon her.
âIf Cherryâs leaving, Stanley and Cherry are not really together. If thatâs the case, Stanley and Iâ¦,â Tia trailed off.
âTia, Iâll have you know that Stanley genuinely cares for you. Iâm a hundred percent sure that you have a special place in his heart, but heâs under the impression that you have feelings for someone else. Is that true?â Cherry asked, serious and unsmiling.
âIf Tia has feelings for someone else, why would she be more affectionate to him? And if she does not, then why did Stanley interpret it that way?â she pondered.
âHuh?â Tia looked at Cherry with her head tilted and her forehead creased.
âWait, no⦠Stanley thought I had feelings for someone else?!â Having caught a glimpse of Tiaâs expression, Cherry immediately understood the situation between them. âTo be honest, heâs just a lone wolf whoâs gotten too used to doing everything by himself. I wonât be surprised if he grows old alone.â
âI donât even know what I should do with him. Heâs not even sure about who he likes,â Cherry thought.
âActuallyâ¦itâs not like that,â Tia said in a faint whisper.
In response, Cherry looked at Tia and busted out laughing.â You two really are a match made in heaven.â
âThey truly are two peas in a pod,â she thought.
Tiaâs face became beet red as she went into denial mode again. âNo, itâs not like that.â
âAlright, Iâll stop here. You guys should sort this out between yourselves. Iâm going to leave in the next few days, so I hope I wonât do anything thatâll make me regret it,â Cherry said as she stood up.
She gave Tia one last look and said, âTia, I hope that you wonât do anything youâll regret either.â
Then, she patted Tia on the shoulder before turning around and walking away.
