Chapter 2792
My Wife is a Hacker
âItâs okay. Weâre still able to hold our own for now. Itâs just that the recent events have been rather weird, so I wanted to share some information with you,â Nicole responded.
âAlright, if you need anything, feel free to reach out to me anytime,â Zane agreed.
âYeah, thatâs it for now,â Nicole replied, and hung up.
âIsnât he with Lawrence?â Maxâs eyes widened in surprise.1 How could Everett go missing?â âHe probably weaseled his way out of Lawrenceâs hideout,â Nicole snorted.
âEverett had only enlisted Lawrenceâs help to flee San Joto. It just so happened that Lawrence had decided to detain him there after they had both left the city.
To flee at the slightest opportunity is something you can always expect from Everett.â
âDoes Lawrence know about Everettâs disappearance?â Max wondered aloud.
âHe might, but as to whether he knows where Everett went, we canât be certain,â
Nicole sighed.
After all, Everett would definitely elude Lawrenceâs vast surveillance apparatus if he truly was determined to escape. Now, the question that needed answering was, where would Everett go after he had fled Lawrenceâs hideout?
At the end of the day, Lawrence was a force to be reckoned with, and there would be very few places in which Everett could hide even if his escape was a success.
âThe Eastern Falcon headquarters.â Nicole thought out loud without If Everett was truly involved with the Eastern Falcon organization, the only also have received help from them to break himself out of Lawrenceâs base where he was held.
Creasing her forehead, she wondered, âIs it possible that Everett and the Eastern Falcon have made a deal?â By the time Nicole arrived home, it was already late at night.
Noticing how tired she looked, Jared gently caressed her hair and said, âYou should sleep earlier today.â
âYeah,â Nicole responded, after which she laid down with Jared and fell asleep.
The next day, the sun was bright and warm.
After they have had their breakfast, Nicole and Jared headed straight to the hospital.
The sight of Ellar looking much better and stronger made her breathe a sigh of relief. âLooks like youâre recovering well.â
At this rate, Ellar might experience a full recovery very soon, and that was more than enough to put Nicole at ease.
âIt is just a minor injury. You donât really need to worry about me,â Ellar said as he scratched his head.
âDid you inform your parents about this?â Nicole asked.
If everyone in the family was made aware of the fact that he had been hospitalized, they would most likely be on edge.
In response, Ellar shook his head and smiled. âNo, I told them I went on a business trip and will be back in a few days, n His family would not have to get all worried sick if he returned home after his injury had completely healed.
âThatâs good. Otherwise, it would only make them anxious.â
It was indeed a good idea to keep this from them, as news about his injury would do nothing but stress them out.
âHowever, I canât hold off on my work, so Iâll have the procedures of my discharge completed in a bit.
After that, Iâll be heading to my office. Iâm planning to stay there for a few days. Once my injury is gone.
Iâll go back home.â Ellar gestured at his arm.
His idea was that returning home at this time would only stir up more unnecessary drama, so it would be better for him to stay in his office.
âStaying in your office isnât exactly going to help your recovery, you know.â
Nicole furrowed her brows.
Having made his decision, Ellar looked at Nicole and replied, âIt will. Iâll be there every day, and I wonât have to move around before and after work. In fact, I think my injuries might even heal faster, and it wonât affect my work.
Itâs a win-win situation no matter how you look at it. Rest assured, I can take care of myself.â
