Chapter 2816
My Wife is a Hacker
âWhat makes you so sure?â Nicole asked out of curiosity.
âAlthough Cherry is a bold person, I can tell she has a calm and rational mind. When she has her eye set on someone, Iâm sure they wonât fall too far off the mark. If both of them are willing to work hard for a chance at a future together, they will definitely succeed.â
And as long as they lead a happy life, the Jean family would slowly come to accept them for who they were.
âIâve met that man once. Although we were quite far apart, I could tell that Cherry was relaxed and happy when she was with him.â Nicole nodded, sharing the opinion that Cherry had a good eye.
While they were chatting, they heard a sudden knock on the door.
âAre they here to provide us with some updates?â Lulu got up and strode over to open the door.
As expected, the men standing at the door were the ones who Lulu had assigned to investigate the financial crisis at Ellison Group. Upon seeing Lulu, they handed a set of documents to her.
Once she had grabbed them, Lulu returned to Nicoleâs desk and shot her a glance. âLetâs have a look.â
Nicole took the documents from Lulu, and as she began perusing the pages, she narrowed her eyes. It seemed that Harvey had really whipped a meticulous plan up overnight.
âWhatâs wrong?â Lulu asked when she noticed the strained expression on Nicoleâs face.
âYou were right. Something is wrong.â Nicole lowered her voice as she passed the document back to Lulu.
Lulu had a look of distress on her as she reached out to take the stack of papers back. There really was something wrong with their findings. As she had mentioned, there was no known natural circumstance capable of catalyzing a financial crisis overnight for a company as strong and solid as Ellison Group.
It seemed to her that Harvey was still holding grudges, and was actively plotting to exact his revenge on them.
However, he had acted too rashly, so they had managed to discover the cracks in his plans once again.Books Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updatesâ¦
âWhat do we do now?â Lulu asked Nicole with complete seriousness after she had read through the details.
After giving it some serious thought, Nicole replied, âLetâs sit still in the meantime. We should not let Harvey know that weâve discovered what heâs up to.â
âGot it.â Lulu nodded, understanding what Nicole meant. âI totally understand.â
Since they had preempted Harveyâs plan, they would just play along and wait to reap the fruits of their efforts.
Then, Nicole narrowed her eyes and smirked. âYou can start by preparing a gift for Harvey.â
âUnderstood. Iâll make sure itâs something youâll be more than happy with.â Lulu winked in mischief.
Nicole simply smiled and shook her head when she heard that. After she had placed that particular document aside, she picked another file up.
Knowing that Nicole was about to get back to work, Lulu got up and announced, âIâll go back and finish up some work.â
âAlright.â Nicole replied, her gaze landing on the document.
âGosh. I honestly donât know when Patricia will be coming back. If sheâs back now, the both of us would have been a lot more relaxed.â Lulu muttered as she sauntered out of the room.
Having heard that remark, Nicole stopped and stared for a moment. Then, she continued looking through the documents.
Patriciaâs return would depend on the rate in which Ellarâs injury healed. Until then, they would have to make do with the person Jared had assigned to replace Patricia for the moment. But it was also because of the new secretary that none of their work was stalled or affected.
Perhaps Patricia had grown on the folks in the office, and her presence had become somewhat of a norm. Therefore the place felt empty without her around. And because Nicole could feel it, she figured that Lulu was experiencing the same.
Meanwhile, at BayCorpâs office.
Ellar had a crestfallen look about him as he removed his bandage, a sight which Patricia could not help but laugh at.
âYouâve recovered really well,â she remarked, having noticed that the wounds on Ellarâs arm and legs had lightened.
âBut Iâm still in pain.â Ellar looked at Patricia.
