Chapter 2832
My Wife is a Hacker
âSo, with such an important task assigned to me, donât you at least plan to reward me, Mr. Ellison?â
Nicole joked.
Taking on this task meant she would likely have to deal with Harvey even more frequently in the future, and any further involvement with him in her life was the last thing she needed.
âWhat do you want? Just say it. After all, I had hoped you would become my granddaughter-in-law back when you were younger. Unfortunately, we lost you. Now, I really canât think of anything I can offer you in return.â Thomas replied jokingly, as his mood had improved significantly.
âWell, thenâ¦â Nicole paused. âJust stop feeling sorry for your grandson.â
âHahaha⦠As long as you keep him alive, I wonât meddle in anything else.â Thomas laughed.
âWell, he wonât lose his life. That much I can guarantee. At most⦠heâll live in despair.â
Of course, she would not actively seek vengeance against Harvey if he wisened up and stopped trying to make her life a living hell. If he did, he would have nobody to blame but herself.
âI believe he will repent one day, and I also believe that Ellison Group will only improve from then on,â
Thomas said solemnly.
This was his hope and his trust in the two individuals he had grown to care about.
âIf he can manage the company without creating a mess, I believe he will,â Nicole agreed.
At the end of the day, Harvey was no slouch when it came to his work. It was just that his deep, unhealthy obsession with Nicole had led him astray.
With the two individuals reaching an agreement, Thomasâ mood improved. He even began to enjoy the coffee with great enthusiasm.
âWell, the taste is indeed good, but I have a bone to pick with you.â Thomas complained in seeming dissatisfaction.â Ever since Harvey offended Jared, I havenât been able to get a taste of the unique coffee he used to supply me.â
âAre you complaining to me?â Nicole laughed.
âOf course. I must ask that you convince your husband to change his mind. How can he be so stingy?â
Thomas looked at Nicole, his brows raised in dismay.
âIf you like my coffee, I can always send some of this yearâs new coffee beans to you, Mr.
Ellison.âBooks Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updatesâ¦
Suddenly, Jaredâs voice was heard, surprising the individuals who then turned to look at the tall, solid figure who had just strode into the office.
âWhy are you here?â Nicole smiled and stood up.
âJust came to see you,â Jared responded gently, his eyes then trained on Thomas.
âHmm, you came here to see if Iâm giving your wife a hard time.â Thomas smiled.
Thomas had already seen through Jaredâs purpose of coming here from the get-go before revealing it before everyone in the room.
How could I pick on Nicole? Moreover, isnât someone I could do that to,â he thought.
âYouâre handing her a hot potato. Donât you think itâs equivalent to giving her a hard time?â Jared countered without backing down.
If he had not just heard Thomasâs words, which were rather pleasant to the ears, he would not have even offered to give him some of his special coffee beans.
âIn her hands, the potato wonât burn, especially with you around,â Thomas retorted as if it were a matter of fact.
âAlright then. Anyway, you may go home now, Mr. Ellison.â Jared finished, his tone calm and polite as if he was not trying to get someone to leave.
If anything, it seemed as though they were having a casual conversation.
Displeased, Thomas shot Jared a sour look. âFine. Iâm not going to disturb you anymore.â
âDonât forget to sign the documents,â Thomas reminded Nicole, after which he marched out of the office.
With the pressing matter resolved, Thomas became even more energetic and joyful.
âThis time, Thomas is truly at ease.â Nicole sighed.
âYou didnât have to agree, you know,â Jared said gently.
âIt doesnât matter. The result would have been similar, and I never intended to leave Harvey with nothing anyway.â
Regardless of the outcome today, everything would still return to Thomas, who would in turn pass everything back to Harvey anyway.
Jared then gently stroked Nicoleâs hair. âI suggest leaving it to the others. Let them deal with it.â
