Chapter 2870
My Wife is a Hacker
âYou knew about it?â Nicole blurted, taken aback by the fact that he was privy to such information.
âI canât say I know everything about it, but I had a hunch,â Martin admitted.
He was well aware of Stanleyâs feelings for Tia, but the misunderstanding involving him and Tia was a recent discovery to him.
Nicole chuckled, finally understanding what he was on about. âSo, what about you? Donât tell me youâre going to remain single forever.â
âIf I could, I should hope so. Unfortunatelyâ¦â Martin sighed.â Unfortunately, thatâs just not impossible.
My family has been urging me into getting married for the past few days. I have a feeling they have been driven into a frenzy because of the amount of weddings theyâve been attending as of late.â Getting what Martin was trying to convey, Nicole laughed. âIf thatâs the case, you must really consider it.
Thereâs a huge possibility that another wedding is coming your way.â
Martin turned to look in the restaurantâs general direction and sighed. âYeah, that seems about right.â
Unable to help herself, she burst out laughing at how defeated Martin seemed to be.
âWhat about you?â he asked as he glanced over at her.
âWell, what about me?â Nicole asked in shock, not understanding where Martin was going with the question.
âWhen is your wedding celebration going to be held? If I still donât have a girlfriend by then, I think Iâll be forced to marry someone at random,â Martin explained.
âIf thatâs the case, I should consider moving my wedding forward,â she teased.
Martin chuckled, âCome on. Thereâs no need to rush this.â
The duo then shared a fresh gale of laughter as they entered the restaurant.
Upon entry, they realized that Stanley had reserved the entire restaurant for this very occasion, with the place spruced up and decorated in such a way that the entire venue oozed romance and coziness.
Most of the guests had also arrived by now.
Ell ar and Patricia went on to approach her when they saw her walking in.
âNicole,â Ellar greeted, glancing behind her. âIs my brother-in- law not coming?â
âHeâs not coming,â Nicole answered, and turned to Patricia as if to ask her if she had gotten any updates on Jaredâs situation.
Patricia shook her head in response, indicating that they were still unable to obtain any information about the matter. Reaching an understanding that they had to wait a little longer, Nicole nodded and refrained from pressing any further.
âOh no. Am I late?â Preston asked, diverting everyoneâs attention to the entrance.
âIf we compare you to Stanley and Tia, then no. Youâre not late,â Samuel teased, implying that Preston was indeed the last to arrive save for the couple who were supposed to take centerstage.
Understanding Samuelâs joke, Preston shrugged his shoulders. âIâm not late if theyâre not here yet, I suppose.â
âAre you talking about us?â Stanleyâs voice blared out as he brought Tia in.
Seeing that everyone Stanley had invited was present, Spencer cast his brother a meaningful glance and asked, âIs everything ready now?â
âYes,â Stanley nodded, holding Tiaâs hand, and approached the dining table.
âPlease, have a seat, everyone.â
The rectangular dining table, resembling those found in the houses of ancient European nobility, had specifically been arranged and positioned right at the center of the restaurant. It was large and long, giving everyone more than enough space to get themselves comfortable.
Stanley remained standing even after everyone had been seated.
Instead, he ranged his gaze over the crowd and announced,â Hi guys, Iâve gathered you all here today for a meal because itâs Tiaâs birthday today. With that said, I want everyone to have fun and celebrate this very special occasion.â
Tia looked at Stanley in shock and asked, âYou knew about my birthday?â
And just like that, Stanley had revealed his reason for calling everyone out here today: he wanted to celebrate Tiaâs birthday.
Initially, she had even thought that Stanley had forgotten about the fact.
âHow could I forget such an important day?â Stanley replied, his voice warm and affectionate.
Then, he produced an ornamented, rectangular box and proffered it to her. âThis is for you. Happy birthday.â
Tia opened her gift, and to her surprise, she found a 24-carat diamond necklace, the design of which she had always fancied.
âThank you, Stanley!â Tia said, feeling warm and fuzzy from within.
Smiling, Stanley took the necklace out and cuffed it to Tiaâs neck.
