Chapter 2913
My Wife is a Hacker
âOkay,â Nicole agreed, hanging up the phone.
Nicole had Lulu arranging for someone to pick up Samuel and Ellar. After Lulu did so, she returned to Nicoleâs office.
âWhatâs going on with him?â Lulu asked, clearly puzzled.
Nicole shrugged helplessly, âGuess he was just feeling down. â She briefly explained to Lulu what Samuel had told her.
Lulu nodded in understanding. âAh, so he was just putting on a brave front. Warned Charlie to treat Patricia well, then turned around and ended up crying himself.â
âWhat else could it be?â Nicole sighed, seeing that Ellar genuinely liked Patricia.
âBut Iâm curious,â Lulu said, frowning slightly. âPatricia and Charlie donât really seem like a couple, do they? I mean, they care about each other, but it doesnât feel like a romantic thing.â
Nicole raised an eyebrow slightly. Lulu was quite perceptive.
She hesitated to discuss Patricia and Charlieâs relationship, considering their identities. Revealing too much could endanger their safety.
âLulu, what if Ellar canât move on?â Lulu was already worried about him.
Nicole frowned slightly. âHeâll get through it eventually.â
Nicole thought, âIf Patricia really decides that way, then maybe Ellar never really had a chance.â She then said,â Someday, Ellar will have to grow up and face it.â
âHopefully,â Lulu sighed, shaking her head.
As they were talking, some noise from outside caught their attention. Lulu went to open the office door.
The guys who were sent to pick them up walked in with Samuel, carrying a completely out-of-it Ellar between them.
âPut him on the couch,â Nicole instructed, frowning slightly, then turned to Lulu. âCan you get him some water?âBooks Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updatesâ¦
âSure,â Lulu replied and quickly headed out, followed by the assistant who had helped bring Ellar.
Samuel shook his head in annoyance. âHe said he was fine, but look at him now. Shouldâve never gone out with him.â
He regretted just saying hi to Ellar; now, seeing the mess, he wished he hadnât. âIf only I hadnât greeted him, he wouldâve just gone to work like normal,â Samuel thought.
Nicole glanced at Ellar and said with a concerned frown,â Who knows when heâll wake up.â
âHard to say,â Samuel replied, looking at Ellar. âHe didnât just drink; he practically drowned himself in booze.â
âHeâs hurting inside. Maybe heâll feel better when he wakes up,â Nicole mused. âSometimes, you just need to let it all out.â
âActing like heâs fine, and then he spills everything once heâs drunk,â Samuel muttered, remembering how pitiful Ellar had looked crying. He couldnât help but feel a bit disgusted.
Nicole gave Samuel a disapproving look. âYouâre laughing at him instead of comforting him?â
âNo, itâs not like that,â Samuel defended himself. âIf I didnât care, I wouldâve left him at the club. I stayed because, well, heartbreak happens. He has to face it.â
Nicole, somewhat exasperated, said, âIf youâre done here, you can go. Weâll take care of him.â
âIâve got nothing else to do. I might as well stay and help out, â Samuel insisted. He knew he couldnât manage Ellar on his own, and neither could Nicole and Lulu.
Just then, Lulu returned with the tea. âHereâs the water.â
Samuel took the cup from her. âTil handle this.â
Nicole looked over and, seeing Samuelâs insistence on staying, let him be.
