Chapter 2940
My Wife is a Hacker
After getting into the car, Patricia leaned back in her seat and stared out the window, her expression lonely and lost in thought.
Lulu nudged Nicole and nodded toward Patricia, asking softly, âIs she okay?â
âSheâll sort herself out,â Nicole replied. Whether something was wrong or not wasnât always obvious, but ultimately, it was up to Patricia to confront it.
As the cars started and headed toward the restaurant, Nicole frowned and glanced in the rearview mirror, noticing Ellarâs car following them. âHeâs really devoted,â she thought, a bit of resignation in her tone.
At the restaurant, the group entered to have dinner. Ellar, showing some restraint, didnât make an appearance.
Waiting outside the restaurant, Ellar looked in, his heart aching for Patricia.
Although she didnât deliberately hide her injury, the conspicuous bandage on her face drew sympathetic glances from others.
Patricia remained composed, but Ellar could still tell she was deliberately keeping her head down, likely self- conscious about the stares.
âI need to talk to Martin to understand Patriciaâs condition and the treatment options,â Ellar thought, determined to find out more.
Inside the restaurant, the atmosphere among the diners quickly warmed up.
They deliberately avoided mentioning Ellar and Patriciaâs injury. Lulu shared some amusing stories, helping shift everyoneâs focus.
Patricia was touched by their efforts to care for her feelings. Despite her mixed emotions, she knew she had to stay optimistic, surrounded by so many who cared and looked after her.
After dinner, the group left the restaurant and went their separate ways. Nicole noticed Ellarâs car didnât follow them anymore; instead, it trailed Martinâs car. âHe must be going to ask Martin,â she realized.
When Nicole dropped Patricia off at her apartment, she reminded her, âHe knows now. You donât have to block his calls anymore.â
Patricia paused, then nodded slightly before heading into the building.
Nicole understood that if Patricia hadnât been blocking Ellar, he wouldnât have lost contact with her and wouldnât have been pushed to inquire about her.
As they drove off, Lulu, perplexed, asked Nicole, âWhy canât they be together when they obviously care so much about each other?â
âPatricia has her concerns,â Nicole said, feeling a bit sympathetic toward them.
Lulu argued, âEllar seems decent and clearly loves her deeply. He was worried about her today and didnât react negatively to her injury. Someone less caring would have just walked away.â
âLet them work it out themselves,â Nicole sighed.
Lulu agreed, acknowledging that it wasnât their place to interfere. Such matters of the heart were for Patricia and Ellar to resolve.
The car slowly left the area, and Patricia returned to her empty apartment, feeling a sense of emptiness. Images of Ellar and his sudden appearance at Martinâs lab kept replaying in her mind.
