Chapter 2958
My Wife is a Hacker
After a moment of hesitation, Stanley said, âShouldnât we tell Mom and Dad? If this keeps up, theyâre going to find out eventually.â
âLetâs try to keep it from them as long as we can,â Nicole sighed.
Nicole was determined to control the situation as much as possible, hoping to avoid causing unnecessary alarm to the family.
Stanley glanced at Nicole and whispered, âIf thereâs anything we need to do, just let us know.â
âOkay,â Nicole replied with a smile, nodding in agreement.
She knew that âusâ included not only Stanley and Tia but also other family members. If needed, Daniel, Gloria, Benjamin, and her uncles were all ready to help.
âIâm going to the backyard,â Stanley said, nodding before he turned and left.
âThere he goes to see Tia again,â Gloria chuckled, watching Stanley leave.
âTheyâre not in a hurry to marry, but maybe itâs better if they do it sooner.â
Nicole returned to the couch and smiled, âMaybe theyâre enjoying things as they are now.â
âLet them be. Besides, even if they want to get married, they probably wonât be ready until next year,â
Daniel reassured Gloria.
âThatâs fine. We canât rush the wedding and mustnât shortchange Tia,â Gloria mused.
âLetâs go, itâs getting late. Time to rest,â Daniel stood up.
âYes, itâs been a tiring day. We chatted for a long time with the kids around this afternoon,â Nicole noted.
After her parents went upstairs, Nicole turned to Jared and suggested, âLetâs go up too.â
Taking her hand, Jared replied, âLetâs check on Nolan and Lana.â
The two kids had run upstairs after dinner, and Jared and Nicole wondered what they were up to.
After heading upstairs, Nicole and Jared went to Nolanâs room.
They saw Nolan engrossed in his computer, with Lana watching curiously beside him. Nicole was slightly puzzled.
Upon closer inspection, they realized Nolan was on a mission again, and Lana, unusually curious, was following along.
âDo you understand what youâre seeing?â Jared asked Lana, ruffling her hair.
Lana shook her head. âI donât, but Nolan will explain it to me.â
Indeed, she didnât understand, but with Nolan explaining, she could grasp some of it.
âDo you want to learn?â Jared probed.
Lana shook her head again. âNo, I donât think I have that kind of talent. But I feel itâs okay to learn a little, so I watch with Nolan.â
Jared picked up Lana and said, âYou donât have to force yourself.â
If Lana wasnât interested, she didnât need to delve into it. She could always get help when needed, and she might not even need to know about these things in the future.
âBut I want to help,â Lana said, wrapping her arms around Jared. âIf it werenât for Nolan today, we wouldnât have had anywhere to hide, and something bad might have happened.â
She felt she was only being protected by Nolan and wished she could help too.
Jared smiled and reassured her, âYou already did help.â
Lana had managed to stay calm and follow Nolanâs lead without panicking or getting scared during the danger. That was already beyond their expectation.
âReally?â Lana asked, looking up in surprise.
She wondered if she had really been helpful without doing much.
âYes,â Jared assured her, pinching her nose. âKnowing to follow Nolan and staying calm in the face of danger are ways of helping. You and Nolan both did well and were very brave.â
Hearing this, Lana nodded vigorously. âI understand. Iâll be even braver in the future.â
âGood,â Jared said, carrying Lana to play elsewhere.
